dude i wont make for every shitty thread a long post with proofs this would take way to long. Its not just posting 2 articles to proof something.

But if its so easy why dont you just post your disaproof here to show me that i'm wrong

If somebody cares about truth he will make his own research

Don't worry - by 2012 Obama will have made every American a Millionaire - maybe even a Billionaire. With the way Obama burns through our money the only way out is through hyper-inflation.

Voila!! Everyone's a Millionaire. (Remember to get your wheel-barrow soon - you're going to need it when you go to buy a loaf of bread.

cause i could post 1000 diffrent articles like this one as example from newscientist

and can claim hey its from newscientist its the TRUTH.But hell no they are so full of bullshit.

Just like in 2000 - during the last peak? I don't remember any trouble then. Why the hysteria and new satelites planed for 2012?

That doesn't make sense...

1) Only detected last year? There's a clue right there - we'v known about the effects of solar activity since early in the last century when Ham operators and the military first pointed antennas at the sun. "Only detected last year" - this was written by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. Typical - they probably interviewed someone at Cornell and simply ASSUMED that the "problem was only discovered last year".

2) I check solar activity AT LEAST twice a week and can tell you that last year was a 'dud' - average daily flux would have been under 130 on any day of the year and WAY LOWER most of the year.

3)In this article its during 2011 and 2012 and in yoru just for a few hours.... and in a third only 2 months.Belive what you want the news are giving you all variations

so here i just showed you this article is just BS also when its from newscience.

Most articles are bullshit without any background knowledge and myself i learned at university engenieering and i know the basics and they are wrong. We are also right now in a process of pole switching but not a small one like the press claims all time but a big one.

But thats to much stuff if somebody really cares he will make his on research .Only what makes me angry are people saying its BS without any basic research maybe just some youtube movies

If there are thousands of articles why haven't you posted one yet? Seems to me these 1000s of articles don't exist. And I mean credible ones, none of that Planet X conspiracy stuff.

As far as I am concerned that just info you typed out. Not research. Link me to that study by Cornell and you win as of now.... nothing.

Also, just because YOU check solar flare activity means nothing. You are neither a credible source nor some one with the professional capacity to deal with making judgments about what the activity means. Or whether last year was a "dud."

Engineering has nothing to do with solar flares bud =) don't kid yourself

NOW for my main point. The research shows that GPS will fail yes, but if you have any brain at all you will know that solar activity and especially solar flares are cyclical and therefore GPS will not consistently fail but rather so for a few hours like metioned in the article that Haiology and myself both sourced. If anything your "research" just proves that article wrong. No where in that Cornell study is it mentioned that GPS will fail forever. Its temporary.

ALL YOU DID WAS TAKE A RANDOM ARTICLE AND ATTEMPT TO PROVE IT WRONG. You said NOTHING to support your argument.

Here's something for you to google: Argumentum ad logicam and Argumentum ad verecundiam

Those too logical fallacies are prominent in your argument.

Fair enough. You have proved why that article could be false, however, you haven't provided any sources yourself, which is what I asked.

Haha looks like you beat me to the punch this time. Lol check my post above this.

=)

Believe it or not. The Mayan's knew more about the planets and the Universe than what scientists know today. Astrologers still cannot grasp the concepts that the Mayans had. The Mayans even predicted their own downfall. 2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar, who knows what will really happen though. But why the hell would you take information from a bunch of magicians that know absolutely nothing about 2012. They are illusionists, not scientists or clairvoyants.

I thought you are a IM guy who knows how to use google

Why should i.If you want to read his study search yourself.I already told you i dont belive what he wrotes and that you can find so many diffrent articles you can choose the truth you want

Also, just because YOU check solar flare activity means nothing. You are neither a credible source nor some one with the professional capacity to deal with making judgments about what the activity means. Or whether last year was a "dud."

Wrong. Its means something if you have brain. You are teached only to lissen to your government and not to yourself.Thats the main diffrence between you and me.

Engineering has nothing to do with solar flares bud =) don't kid yourself

I think you have no clue where engineering begins

NOW for my main point. The research shows that GPS will fail yes, but if you have any brain at all you will know that solar activity and especially solar flares are cyclical and therefore GPS will not consistently fail but rather so for a few hours like metioned in the article that Haiology and myself both sourced. Ok,so where are the articles from 2000 about this issue? There had to be plains without GPS and other vehicles.Something like that wasnt in the news?????
A few hours from 2011-2012.:) Do you really belive that it will be like 2-20h and it will go over?Dude the sun is not changing so fast before the sun changes it takes time not just hours or days.It looks like you have no clue about the sun.

ALL YOU DID WAS TAKE A RANDOM ARTICLE AND ATTEMPT TO PROVE IT WRONG. You said NOTHING to support your argument.

Where is your own proof?Asking for proof without showing itself

I tell you something why i wont waste much time explaining people whats going on because they ARE BRAINWASHED like you.No clue only an articel and thats all.

I love watching people spend so much time debating a pointless argument instead of spending that time making money.

:D

If dooms day comes(it won't, not on that date) so what? You won't know that it happened and it will not matter. I can't wait to see how many people blow their life savings in late 2012. I will capitalize on this hysteria to the best of my abilities.

Awesome.

Alright, I looked at those articles. They had nothing to do with GPS. One was simply solar flare info. The other was titled "Could solar flares have caused GPS faliure" which clearly shows there is no conclusion.

But RealMoney makes a nice point. I off to Craiglist. You can enjoy being non-brainwashed and enlightened on your own.

I liked the part about offering to buy peoples houses for $2012. I think I might look into that. Looks like a great BH way to make some money from this. Hey, lets not get sidetracked here, this IS BHW. How many other ideas can we find to profit from this?

Take a look they talk that GPS will get off but they talk mailny about the reason.GPS is not important its an effect.

from newscientist:
Anthea Coster of MIT in the US said the findings show that solar radio bursts can have immediate global effects. "The size and timing of this burst were completely unexpected and the largest ever detected. We do not know how often we can expect solar radio bursts of this size or even larger," she says.

Hmm looks like its not every 11 years cause if yes why its completely unexpected and why doesnt she know how often it happens?I thought every 11 years

Shut up all of you skeptics.

Clearly we are all going to die in 2012.

But I am making a secret underground basement that will protect us from the ultimate planet solar X flare.

Before you can join, I will need you to sign up to a site for age verification to make sure you're old enough to breed so we can create a new civilization. I will also need you to send me your credit score with this site as I don't want any poor people in my new world.

99% of people base their beliefs without an open mind or thorough research. This goes both ways.

For example, Bob denies (insert religion here) because it sounds like a made up fairy tale. He (whether intentionally or not) does a little bit of research from biased authors to prove this or simply does not go deep enough or focuses on one particular category of info and basically just does enough to satisfy what he wants to believe. He may or may not be right; he basically has a 50/50 chance.

Joe was raised all his life to be a devout (insert religion here). He actually does do some research because he starts having doubts about his religion. After doing some either biased or unthorough research he finally comes to the conclusion that of course his particular religion is true. He again in all actuality only has around a 50/50 chance.

Then there's the unique and rare guy named Steve. He realizes that since he access to tons of info in the modern world that there should be truth out there that almost definitely proves one way or the other of any issue he wants to know about that is debated. He researches heavily on both sides of the story. He becomes obsessed over it. At first he is very open to both sides and at the same time very confused. Right when he thinks he understand, he realizes ____ doesn't make sense. Eventually, though, everything does come together and makes full sense. Although he may still not be clear on some very minor points, he very clearly sees the big picture and all the available facts that verifies it. This was almost impossible to be until very recently, and still very much is in many fields of science. This is a very very rare person that is impossible to 100% be, but someone could come very close.

This can also be applied to any conspiracy theory, true or not. I just used religion as an example that everyone should be able to somehow relate to.

Most people will probably not understand and/or agree with this post, but this post is the story of me. But basically it all boils down to most people form a conclusion and then verifying it with research (while really not being open to any other conclusion) , rather than completely learn about a topic then form a conclusion (which actually takes time, effort, dedication, and mental strength.)

And I know almost everyone who actually read that post will completely disagree with me. In doing so, you kinda in a way proved my point :p

The truth is out there. (insert x-files music here) :D

"Ah, what the fuck was that? It was Microphone-X"

I almost fell out of my chair hahah

jesus people , we had 10 END days in last century, yes 2012 is real date jesus

Actually we are supposed to upgrade our spirituality around this date
The Universe is making profound changes and the Mayans knew this.

Oh yeah totally. Penn & Teller should be consulted concerning all things and anything from baby names to PPC.

Ofcourse it ain't true that the earth will go under in 2012.

If it does it's probably just a "lucky" coincedent and it's probably human made. Not because of some weird calculation.

Seriously people that believe it's true should get a reality check.

And start using some common sense instead of some kind of doom day thinking I guess they also think all things is a conspiracy.

I can't believe people today especially in the western world haven't evolved further.

2012 is the London Olympics ... so that is one disaster predicted for sure :D
