For all of the writers on here, rather you freelance, write for a company, for a blog. etc.

How much do you make on average per month solely from writing?

What was your highest paid month you have ever had?

And what would you recommend a beginner writer do, to get started in the fastest way possible?

This info will help me out as a beginner trying to get into the writing world, but will hopefully also help and inspire others as well, who think writing cannot be a full time thing.

I don't make anything from writing although I do really enjoy it sometimes, I might start a blog of some sort just to get all this stuff out that my brain wants me to say. But then it turns in to some work versus a passion that strikes me once in a while. Who knows. Writing can be like an art form.

I cant really answer your questions but if you want to start writing for some clients i suggest you find like 5 good clients that will order from you articles constantly and depending on the quality and how you write you will conclude some kind of price. Try making some market sales thread and you will find lots of ppl who are in a need of some good writers.

    Heya,

I used to have written some posts for my own websites and it makes me about $30-60 a month!
The fastest way would be just get writing and polish your skills that way.

    Good luck!

    Regards,

Writing is paying for sure. I have seen a lot of friends doing it full time and earning from it.

You can earn a good paycheck but you have to work hard, start with the freelancing sites on the internet. They are a great way to find some work and start immediately.

My highest month was managing writers for a company full time. I charged them by the hour and wrote for them. I made a little over $8k on my best month. Worst month is probably $2k. This money has been incredible but I'm actually overbooked I think so deadlines are a concern. This month I should make at least $6k. last month, I think I made about $4k. April was horrible for me. I think I made maybe $2k. It's tax season in the US so no one is buying big projects.

To be fair though, I also do coding, project management, SEO audits and other things so all my earnings are not from writing.

I don't see how knowing how much I earn each month will help you as a beginner writer. Apart from getting far too high expectations for your first month as a writer.

The only depressing thing here are your manners, asking us how much we earn.

I am a writer and I haven't scaled to the "professional" market as far as getting clients. I write mainly for myself. I have tried writing for others but I have a "long winded" I write for knowledge. Not SEO or anything of that caliber. I have written 48 kindle books and it's a nice little chunk of change. You have to understand that writing is really not for everyone. It's a tedious task if your heart isn't in what you are writing. I mean, I am sure there are people out there that can churn and burn for the coin but in all reality, writing is hard. Especially if you don't know the subject.

I think if I was to start as a writer, since I live in the US. I would set my base around $35 dollars minimum. that isn't going to make some people because we live in a society where it's okay to undercut and low ball. You have to set your standards and stick with them even if this means you eat noodles and mac/cheese for a while.
I believe the reason why many writers burn out is because they often times don't have the basic foundation to do research on the given topic. When people see that they have to repeat a keyword, they go about it which ends up looking like complete garbage . When in actuality, a true "article" is written on the premises of the keyword. You talk about the subject, not at the subject.

Think of it when you are talking, do you want someone repeating the same word time after time? Or talking with core of the topic being about whatever it is you are talking about? There are several tiers of talking with someone or addressing a mass audience which I think people often times forget to do.

The depressing thing here is you don't see the reasons behind my questions. I simply wanted to know if beginning as a writer would be worth it, money wise. Whatever I do, I'm going to research it and make sure it is top quality. Which means I invest a lot of time. I want to make sure I am going to get an ROI that is worth it. That is how business works. You cant exactly find a clear answer on google as to the potential income of a writer. So I came to where I know writers are, and people are willing to help others out. Genius huh? I do not recall putting a gun to your head and telling you, you have to tell me how much you make. If you would like to keep it private, then simply do not reply.

If your post brings no value, no help, no positive encouragement, no important information, no entertainment, nor any advice that anyone on the forum can use, I personally would not see the reason to post. But hey, whatever rocks your boat man.

Check out the blogs of freelance writers. Some of them are making a good living - USD 6000+ per month.
But all of the writers making good money are working for the clients they found on their own.

You won't make much money by sticking to a particular platform such as textbroker, hirewriters, iwriter, freelancer etc.
Though you should try to get in to these to get work on a rainy day.

This is the blog of a successful freelance writer

There are many other similar blogs that may help you in finding out more about this line of work.
