Ok, I have read through a lot of stuff in one day and I have one question that stands out in my mind and forgive me if this is in the wrong forum.
Let's say there is an article pack (good a place as any to start..lol) that i have and i put it on my website. These articles have obviously been duplicated by dozens of others on the internet because they will have the same file names and folders and directory structure. My question is .. if I modify the structure of the each page by using search and replace to include headers, footers etc, will this modification help search engines distinguish my pages from unmodified ones in terms of a better chance of not gettin banned for duplicate content etc
Im pretty new to all this and just had a light bulb go off in my head that i can use search and replace to replace <body> with <body><one long tag of html header stuff> and </body> with <footer stuff></body>
Also I targeted other columns and tags and inserted classes in the html tags to make the whole page use css.
I know all this is old hat to you guys, but i'm rather proud.. lol I can make random articles look like every other page of my site.. lol
Any other tips like this for newbies at my stage of development ?
