I'm new on this forum and pretty green to SEO, so let the bashing begin, but please be gentle. I'm a PPC guy going through a transitional phase.
I apologize in advance if this question has been asked or if I'm outing a technique, but I have access to approx many PR5-PR9 corporate websites with next to 0 outbound links and extremely high authority/trust. I have the ability to add backlinks on homepages with whatever anchor text I choose. My issue is that these are corporate websites and a big, stupid backlink on the homepage would be discovered quickly and removed. I was wondering if anybody has ever tried using a custom font that used "_" "."or something similar in conjunction with Font-Face for every character to mask content and/or links? I know the usual tricks like hidden DIVs, black text on black background, etc don't work, but I have never heard anybody talk about this potential technique. I did set up a test page for an Adwords PPC campaign about 18 mos ago and it ended up with an 8 QS, so I am thinking this could work?
To clarify, the website visitor would see something like "....... ...... ...." but the search engine would index as "Keyword Anchor Text"
Any thoughts? Worked pretty well a while back for a particularly difficult vertical
