Font Awesome load impact on wp site

Hi i wanted to use fontawsome to use it for email icon, location icon and phone icon on the footer and the header. So what would be the less load time impact for the site :

1.- Just use the javascript they give you on the header and footer html.
2.- Insert the js code on the functions php.
3. Load although not the latest version, the css through some cdn existing links
4 just use 4 small images of icons ?¿

I think ill leave it as it is (just loaded the script as html on the header) , its like 23Kb between the css and the js it loads ...
