As mentioned above, do follow will pass link juice but no follow doesn't. But No follow has much value if the link is from high authority site, it will increase site trust. Both are valuable links, the link power depends on linking site. You have to maintain balanced ratio, to be safe.

Do follow links are the key factor in link building. They allow link juice to pass to the concerned site. It helps in improving site metrics. These links will be considered by the google bots while crawling. Whereas in case of No follow..these links will not be considered by the google bots and therefore it is not preferred for link building. But getting a No follow link from high DA sites will still have a impact on your site metrics.
But It is always wiser to choose DO follow than No follow links for good results.

Some ranked web pages on Google have an average of about 20%-40% no-follow links they are used for diversity just make sure you also have lots of do follow backlinks.
