Follow my First Flip

Hey guy's Been browsing the forum & learning for quite a while now but I have decided to finally flip my first website and go ahead and share my results as a give back. I have never sold on Flippa before and will basically just follow some of the rules and guidelines that I have found on the forum.

Here is some basic information about my website:
A couple of month back I threw together a quick little landing page for 2 of my E-Books, set them up for instant download after the paypal transaction and then started promoting them in one single sales thread on another forum. Honestly, after the initial setup I got to busy with Exams and it turned more into a sit & watch project. I have not touched this website or sales thread at all since the initial setup. Setup cost total for the website was $8 for the domain (pops up on page 2 for its main keyword in google already without any kind of extended work so far), $15 for the hosting account and $8 for the interactive template including 6 different color schemes. The E-Books that come along with the sale were written by me and are ecommerce related. I don't want to talk to much about the topic but they are good quality E-Books filled with affiliate links.

The website has created the following revenue:
February - Direct Sales $65 - Affiliate Commission $40 - Total Amount $105
March - Direct Sales $75 - Affiliate Commission $50 - Total Amount $125
April - Direct Sales $85 - Affiliate Commission $105 - Total Amount $190

I created a basic Flippa listing (no added features like bold title, tweets etc) and set the auction to end in 5 days and start at $1. I have set a reserve price as well as a BIN price but I wanted to limit my Auction to 5 days because I am hoping to get the most traffic out of the weekend (today is thursday).

My auction went online 1 Hour Ago and has received 1 Pending Bid ($5)

Nice thread idea, I have been looking into selling a couple sites of my own. subscribed. Did you write those ebooks yourself? or just rehash the some old stuff? no google search traffic at all?

Yes, the E-Book content is written by me and not some rehashed method so I don't have to worry about breaking some kind of copyright I am not in a huge need for cash right now so I am really turning this more into a experiment. Right now I have the website listed at the price that I would love to get for it but I know that I may need to lower that depending on the interest that it catches.

Starting Bid: $1
Reserve: $600
BIN: $1250

I don't think I should share the sales thread in here though not trying to attract extra buyers but just give stats and a review

I would recomment that you keep on monetizing from it for at least 9 more months and then sale it as a 12 months average revenue will bring you a good amount for it.

Very interesting the website made $105 in February but you didn't purchase the domain until March 21, 2012. March sales were very strong also for a website only being live just over a week. I suspect sales were from DP directly and not from the website?

Did you take his words literally? I think he made all the sales through his own website, as there involves affiliate commissions and a program normally requires some site set up (I believe, never been involved).

Ah, well yes, I took his words literally. He's saying he's selling a website that made X amount of dollars a month. Not he's selling a website and oh by the way, I made some money doing something else in Feb, March and April. I guess that's my fault???

His affiliate commissions were through affiliate links published in his eBook and not ads running on a website somewhere. Most income through HMA affiliate offers from what he posted in revenue sources.

Ah, sorry for the late reply and maybe not being clear enough in the first post It's a package of 2 ebooks that I am selling along with the website. The actual sales started late feb and then about a month later I went ahead and uploaded the site because I was getting tired of manually sending out ebooks lol!

Sorry for the confusing on that part but I made sure to be more clear on my sales letter Sadly flippa decided to take my auction down due the content being adult related so I am just going to try for a quick flip on another forum so I can reinvest into other projects. If I don't get my price it's really not a big deal because it will sit and earn either way lol.

Did they refund you the listing fee?
