    One word of advice that i learned from. KNOW the owners name before you call. Dont do the whole im calling to see who is in charge od marketing thing, it really wastes time, you can waste a whole two hours with ppl giving you the run around when u ask that question...either pre call and find out the name of the owner first and put them on a list for you to call the next day or look them on on bbb.com

    If you are calling for websites and SEO, you will get hung up on many, many times. EVERYONE IS CALLING ABOUT WEBSITES AND SEO. My dad gets at a very minimum of 2 "do you need a website?" calls PER DAY.

    Just saying, even with the best script, you end up looking like the rest of them.

    Hopefully you've taken the initiative to try a better approach than the rest of the people calling about websites and SEO.

    This is my question - do the SEO services work? I am reminded of the "Dentist" thread. If you are an SEO animal - make up some generic websites in their field and get it to #1 on Google. If you can't convince them to buy over the phone - get some one else to do it for a cut. SIMPLE! (maybe not easy)

    Now - the website service works the same way. Chose an industry where having a site is mandatory - like a spa. Believe me - if you can demonstrate that the site will bring in clients - they WILL pay.

    The best way to generate clients is do work for FREE for family or friends and get referrals.... i worked on the phone for 4 years, there are better ways then telemarketing.

    This could not be further from the truth. My cold callers make thousands of calls every day and our script gets us business. It is ALL about the script! Problem is, most people use the same kind of script that owners hear all the time.

    This is from personal experience. Yes, having a great script will yield you results, but they will be very minimal if your goal is to sell SEO on the first call, period.

    This is what everyone is trying to do.

    And what makes you an exception is that you have a cold calling team. Meaning you have man power to blow through 10,000 contacts in a week.

    These people here are starting from ground zero, only one person manning the phone, so the more effective their sales process is, the more they convert.

    I've worked at call centers for 5 years and the campaign matters as much as the script. Full stop.

    I'm generating over $10,000 per month combined from 8 clients, and I'll tell you why: POSITIONING.

    Maybe if everyone is trying to do it, you should find a way to make it unique, or do something else...

    I started two months ago calling myself. Just me, a free leads list, and a sample script. The reason I am successful is not because I "blow" through calls. It is because I have an effective scripts. The only difference between where I started and today is simply leverage.

    You keep mentioning your script is the reason you are so ahead in the game, can you share it or at least give us the general idea of what it includes? PM me if you don't wanna share it on the forum...

    What's your positioning?

    Do you just do SEO and rank people on the first page?

    Or do you guarantee increased ROI and leads while adapting your services to the business' needs?

    Here's a hint: I do the latter, and hire someone else to do the former.

    Is it riskier? Sure. Does it pay well? You bet your ********ing ass it does.

    But if you want to call every business under the sun and offer SEO, it's still better than working at Mick Dicks for a cup full of change... probably.

    I cold call everyday not for seo how are you getting on. This is an area I have a lot of experience ten years in the publishing industry and cutting my teeth in difficult markets before that I used to sell giftwrap to discount stores here in the uk very tough market if there is anything I can help you with let me know

    I am going to take a different approach. I want people who already want SEO/SEM services.

    I know my area real estate agents hold a monthly meeting, about 100 out of 900 show up each month. They need content. I am going to give a free SEO speech at the meeting and tell people how to actually do one aspect of online marketing. I'll talk 30 minutes and I'll allow 30 minutes Q&A on any online marketing topic. If I do not know something someone asks I will state I do not know but will look into further.

    I can put my business card in front of every chair. Those who take it, great! Those who don't take it, great!

    I've spoke at these meetings before so I know I'll have 2-6 people, at least, who will schedule an appointment right there.
