I use Ant Video Downloader for Firefox, which basicly lets you download any .flv on any webpage anywhere. Very handy. However, I'm looking for some good software that can split the video into little segments that I can upload to Youtube. Does anybody have any experience with this?

No, not just a normal splitter. I would like one that can handle .flv without having
to convert it first. Would this be possible? And believe me, I may be a
newbie, but I am not to lazy to Google it:) All I could find were crappy trials. Paid software would be fine too.

So all you need is a FLV editor like this http://www.exp-flv.com/. I haven't personally used this, but it has good features than others and it's stated as free one.

I am not sure if it can be splitted (just like a text file having continuous data)without converting or recreating the flv format container because it would require headers/meta for frames as well as for the complete video. So to reconstitute this header information a flv muxer or similar component is required.

Also you can try this tool http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html This is one of the best software to convert different file formats & codecs. I am not sure if it does split the files without re-encoding or converting it.
