What does this mean for you?

1) Flurly's Stripe account has been disabled. This means that buyers who use Flurly’s digital marketplace cannot pay you.

2) If you get payouts through Paypal or Payoneer, Stripe has frozen your balance. This means the portion of payouts you expect from these providers is now frozen.
[NB: If you use Stripe Connect directly, your payouts should happen as expected.]

3) Flurly is no longer a viable digital marketplace. It is in your best interest to find an alternative provider.

What happened?

You can read the full story in the following blog post: https://flurly.com/blog/flurly-stripe-shutdown

Flurly owner says :

I don’t really know what happened. My guess is that a site served as a front for something else that was illegal and against the Stripe and Flurly terms of service.

When I first built it, it was structured in a way such that the customer payments came into the Flurly Stripe account and was subsequently paid out to sellers via Stripe Connect, Paypal or Payoneer.

Over time, this set up proved risky with legal liabilities. So last year I migrated to Stripe Connect’s direct charges model where customer payments would go directly into sellers' Stripe accounts. This meant all new sellers had to have a Stripe account.

However, there were still legacy sellers that depended on Flurly for their living. Thus I "grandfathered" in these accounts and let them keep using the old Flurly system.

Guys be gentle and respect when someone helps you and don't screw people who stand behind you.

I don't use Flurly and I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I don't know details but I want to ask you - don't be asses and don't screw others people businesses. This can happen to gumroad, paddle and all other platforms that are merchant of record and there are so many people all around who depend on these services.

Think long term!

These companies are fucked up. Same as Facebook/Meta. Sending me countless emails about why I don't use Meta Audience Network for my apps..."account manager" who keeps emailing me, even on LinkedIn. But at the same time not offering any support or replying to any message once the Audience Network or Ads account gets disabled without any explanation.
