flipping simple blog/s..

ya, I was wondering does anyone have any experiences is there any market or demand for a slightly developed domains? What I mean by this is that I've put up a simple wordpress blog there (using free theme), with free content (pulled from yahoo answers and articles using Caffeinated Content), and submitted it to few social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, Technorati and so on and I'm getting little traffic there though it's not profiting yet. So it's like the "basic" work has been done already, and the new owner just need to start add his own content there and start to promote it more. But I was thinking am I allowed/is it legal to sell these kind of developed domains/sites as it contains a free WP theme and yahoo answers content and articles from article directories..? How about if I mention that in my sales "pitch" ?

And I don't know if there's even any demand for these kind of developed domains... this just popped in my mind.

Maybe selling these kind of sites for mid xx or very low xxx .. dunno.. any opinions?

What I think you might be better off doing is creating a network of these simple blogs and selling either links or the network as a whole. Do some back linking to random blogs and build up the value of the entire network. There would be added value if each blog had a custom theme, content, etc.

You can sell it at Sitepoint for $20-$40 a pop at the Startup Web Sites for Sale section.

I wouldn't say there's an actual DEMAND for these kinds of sites but you can flip them pretty easily...

One thing I do (I have over 5000 domains) is to purchase a domain. Then I put it up for sale at SEDO.com. All my domains are registered privately BUT as long as you reset your DNS to Sedo's DNS, they will allow you to sell these domains through them.

I do this for a couple of reasons...

1) To get the domain spidered and indexed...
2) When I launch the site, it's already indexed and usually, at least 6 months old or older...

All my domains are niche domains so I build a domain and start adding content. I do this in a variety of ways but the main thing is that you need to be consistent with the content so that within 90 days, Go*ogleb*ot is pretty much sitting on that domain 24/7 waiting to spider/index new content.

I make sure that the domain gets indexed in Alexa then at some point after there are plenty of articles/posts, I'll go ahead and purchase traffic from Adbrite just to help get that Alexa ranking up there.

You'd be surprised at how many offers I end up getting after the domain has been launched EVEN with a simple WP blog because the prospects do a little research on their own to see where it sits traffic-wise.

And, if you outsource some backlink creation just to get the domain up to a PR3 or sometimes even a PR4, again, you'd be surprised at how many offers you can get through Sedo... LOL.

You can even attempt to monetize the site but I like to make it look like I don't know how to monetize it... This way, a prospect thinks they found a diamond in the rough.
