flippa is dead

I have been searching for a flippa alternative for a long time, but sadly nothing comes close. The next best option was to look for expired domains and build sites from scratch. My personal tiff with Flippa was a site I put up for sale for 5k. The buyer was dodgy and instead of funds going into escrow flippa messed up and I got the money directly in paypal. I refunded immediately and then told flippa to re-list my website as it was an error from their end.

Interestingly I was banned (just because I refused the buyer from making a direct payment which he could at anytime asked for a chargeback from paypal).

So there goes!

It is high time there were some alternatives to flippa. At times they do have some good sites listed.
It's possible now to choose your payment methods. I wouldn't want a big payment going into PP either. I've had customers forget they bought from me and start a PP dispute, and PP refunded them before I had a chance to reply. Luckily in both cases, the customers were honest about it and paid again. Empireflippers might be an alternative for high-value sites, but I'm not sure if even 5K is in their range.

Hi, I am so happy to see that people are starting to talk about this online!! I am also a flippa seller and now pissed off! ... I started sitecellar o r g and yes its still new but I will be investing on this site as I am not stupid enough to accept paying those ridiculous fees.... I made over 800 sales on flippa and now they wont have all my business anymore...

Thanks for talking about this in public as we cannot accept flippa to abuse their seller like this !

Totally agreed! And now they double their price and gives us no quality .. lol sales are hard to make and 40% of them are non payer buyers ... Keep sharing the word and they might wake up!

They say in their blog post they're raising prices because they've added value. They are actually advertising other sites on our listings now. They haven't done anything to raise the value of their service, but they've lowered it.

hey haven't done anything to raise the value
Totally agree ... I think flippa will die... They showed us new features as they gave us last week ( and mostly for buyers not seller) and with the old fees they obviously made enough to be able to give these feature to us ... Thjey pissed me right off after 800 sale you dont get a deal you get higher fees...

We need to find a better place anyone selling starter site online? I made sitecellar org but its new lol but my listing or going there for now :)

Not a good idea to promote your own site here, just a little advice. People might think you're spamming. Not a good idea to have a business site with a .org either. Also not a good idea to start a business with the same name and purpose as an already established business. There's already a sitecellar.com.

the .com is also mine and its not an auction site .. I have many cellar domain as ads ect i wont name them here lol just in cause they think i would try to advertise heheh and thanks for the advice I was just mentioning and not advertising but yeah i'll keep that in mind

I agree with I'M. I've sold lots of good valued sites on flippa for some serious change to probably middle-aged folks who just don't have the know-how or where to start work ethic to make it online. Wish they would do a better job weeding out the scammers.

I hate Flippa. I feel 80-90% of their deals (websites against their selling prices) are spam!!
I never realized there was so much hate for Flippa out there. I never had big problems with them and I always found them reasonable. They've even refunded me when I've screwed up a listing. They're not perfect by any means, but I was doing well with them until this price hike. I'm hoping I can still make it work, but it's unfortunate to see so many others have had a bad experience.

Website selling is not a good business at all. Why people would sell their site when they can earn well from it. That just turn me off.

What mechanisms does Flippa have in preventing SCAMS from being posted?

There is no scammers there will be no websites listed ther will no money and hence there will be no flippa. There will be only empire flippers.

What makes you so confident of empire flippers? How do they answer the question of "If your site is actually making money why sell it?"?
