i just notice flippa have increase there listning price drastically which is absurd, seeing they are the only successful in the website selling business. honestly i dont know what got to them. i think some one needs to create a better and more friendly platform where you wont encounter Scammers all the time or perhaps BHW should create a separate Marketplace website am sure id prefare to buy sites over there than flippa.

Flippa says you can relist your expired listings. I tried and it gave me a bunch of errors and I forgot about it.

I hope BHW domain marketplace gets a boost from Flippa screwing up.

Damn, just read a comment on that post and someone said "Less scammers = less listings = less profit for flippa."

It all makes sense now. Even if you get scammed Flippa still gets their cut so they could care less.

EXACTLY i was scam a total of $4k 2 years ago there support did notting about it i ultimately lost my patience with there support and he banned me without any valid reason a win for them since they get to keep the success fee any way.

the scams are few and far between compared to all the successful deals that take place
if anything this should be a punch to the gut of the sellers of beginner sites, which imo are the plague of Flippa

How many of those successful deals are legit though? Honest question. I see a piece of shit site sell for U$ 15000 and I can't believe anyone would pay that much for a site with no history, no real monetization strategy beyond Adsense and so on.

good point. don't get me wrong, I'm in no way vouching for Flippa. In fact, I've been scammed there as well, although it was just $500
i just wanted to note that it's not necessarily the scammers fault that Flippa "is dying" - Flippa has a very low barrier of entry
it's like getting pissed at rats in your house, when you have the doors wide open and trash laying around all over the place

Flippa has just went Disney is all. Anyone who hears about buying a website for the first time ends up at Flippa. I've let go of a bunch of personal testing sites and small sub-par projects for thousands of dollars to middle aged people who have budgets who just want to make money online but don't know how.

I think Empire Flippers is more what you're looking for.

I was making good money on Flippa selling low cost sites, but this price increase is really going to hurt me. I've been looking for new income streams for months because I knew something could go wrong anytime, but nothing is working yet.

Fuck that. I tried that in the past and people took my sites down from serps.

People in here will do anything to take the next guy all out of jealousy!

Bhw is not a good place to sell businesses unfortunately...

The biggest turnoff for me with Flippa has been the fact that they allow a lot of "Beginner Sites" to come in. And the definition of that is skewed.

If someone sets up a new blog, posts content, manages the category and then tells me it's a beginner site, I'd accept.

If someone sets up a new company site, selling a particular service, has a design and posts original content, then tells me it's a beginner site, I'd still accept.

But someone who has 20 listings, selling the exact same stuff with just the domain and a very unprofessional logo, changing everytime, tries to pass it on as a beginner site, then well, fuck them. And someone still selling "automated" sites, well fuck them too.

If Flippa only had a "Unique Content" filter, I'd be much more interested in their marketplace. They do have that as a Metric within the listing, but not as a filter.

there is a guy on flippa who sells over $70k of the same template sites over and over again all he does is change the domain and logo then claim it unique and its good to go, flippa did noting about it and newbies are happy to pay top doller for it. 80% of the time the buyers let the domain to expire as all the information they got was total bogus/ this kind of things surprise me as this is right under flippa's nose and they do noting. this will show you that flippa is the wrong type of place to buy a website almost 90% of sites over there are scams.

I sold many of these sites and had mostly happy customers. Sometimes, people didn't read the listing carefully and didn't realize what they were buying, in which case I'd offer a refund. Some people just want a place to start, and others have their own way of getting traffic. I'm not the only one doing this, there are several others selling poorer quality sites than me probably making money. I suppose we'll all have to raise prices after this. I just hope the customers come back.

If someone is marking copied content as unique, they can be reported and Flippa will check it. I've accidentally listed templated sites as unique and had to have Flippa change it after they suspended the listing. I don't think quite so many are scams, I've always been honest about what I'm selling and I and several others were making long term income from it. I'd much rather do that than make a quick thousand or two off a scam and get banned for it.

I think new sellers are the big problem. Flippa should do more to regulate what they sell. Hopefully, if anything good comes out of this price hike it will be that the bar will be too high for poor quality sellers to enter.

I have been searching for a flippa alternative for a long time, but sadly nothing comes close. The next best option was to look for expired domains and build sites from scratch. My personal tiff with Flippa was a site I put up for sale for 5k. The buyer was dodgy and instead of funds going into escrow flippa messed up and I got the money directly in paypal. I refunded immediately and then told flippa to re-list my website as it was an error from their end.

Interestingly I was banned (just because I refused the buyer from making a direct payment which he could at anytime asked for a chargeback from paypal).

So there goes!

It is high time there were some alternatives to flippa. At times they do have some good sites listed.
