I just recently came on the website flipping scene, but I see posts dating from months to years back that talk about flippa being the best. Why is it that most of what I see are nothing but duplicate sites, and sites where the bounce rate is extremely high yet they are asking for tens and thousands of dollars? Like I said, Im new to the website flipping scene, but is this really the best site to buy quality websites? Or atleast ones with potential of being? I feel like I'm missing something here.

You're looking at the wrong sites.

Check out the most popular auctions and you should be able to get a more realistic view of the site flipping market.

I'm still doing research myself but yeah, I see where you're coming from but when I started focusing on the most popular auctions, I got a more realistic view.

I guess people look to it as the more reputable place to buy quality websites as opposed to just domains. I don't see it dying off any time too soon.

Agreed. There are a few others trying to take Flippa's crown but those contenders suffer from CREDIBILITY and CONFLICT OF INTEREST ISSUES. Also, they can't get nowhere close to Flippa's SCALE.

Flippa doesn't seem to be in financial trouble as far as I know.

As for the prices, there are tons of troll listings that are worth pennies but are listed for thousands.

Problem is people are inflating prices way too high, which is good for Flippa, but the ROI for site buyers often is not even close to that avertised.

Yeah flippa is still good.

I used it to sell my first site a while ago and everything went smooth.

As far as buying domains you have to watch out, some people are selling snake oil.

It is not dead, however it is definitely dying. 5 years ago I used Flippa to sell affiliate websites and made enough good deals there (~18-20x). Today, Flippa is full of scam and it is almost impossible to sell your website for a good price. Have been using EmpireFlippers for two years and last website that i sold there was sold for 20x monthly profit.

I agree there are so many scammers on there that even the legit sites dont bring good money so people dont list good sites with them. People want to pay 6x revenues and no legit site owner is going to sell for that and when you see 100 guys offering a site making $2k a month for $4k it drives down prices of legit sites when guys in the business know these are scam sites.

I even found one of my sites listed for sale on there. Someone had ask me about selling it and I have him temp access to the adsense and the site and he listed it for sale.

yes i find its dying i have sold about 10 sites and i find its slowing down now!

Unbelievable! the nerve of that guy! Do you cuss him out?

I recently seen a website with $650/month profit selling for $50,000. Nowhere near dead.

Good point re troll listings.

There are also troll buyers.

Beware of these.

They swoop in at the last minute and place really high bids.

A lot of these don't pan out.

They may ask for tens of thousands of dollars but do they get it? Flippa is full of sellers who have high hopes for their sites and ask for stupid amounts, best to be realistic and make a sale instead of asking for stupid amounts

A lot of low quality sites, but the good ones are selling really high(especially with adsense revenue regardless how much).
Always do your research especially about the traffic trends and sources. And if you really want quality site watch those older than 12 months.

Not sure about empire flippers on this one, they promise 20x-28x but never delivered. what good does a broker make if they promise a high return but unable to sell. Whilst your site just sitting there rotting and die.

Flippa isn't dying for a very long time. There is no domain flipping site as big as flippa. Until that changes, they will be the monopoly.
