Hi.

We recently sold a website for $2300 on flippa.
The buyer wanted to use Flippa Escrow, so we went with that.

The buyer deposited the funds to escrow, and we transfered site and domain to the buyer.
Buyer is happy and wants to realease the funds to us.

The story should be ending there.

But this is when Flippa gets involved.

Its abit unclear to us what is really happening, but from what i understand, this is whats going on;

Flippa says that they have received the $2300 from the buyer, they just dont know where it is.
Apparently there are different offices.

Flippa HQ and Flippa Dublin (or somethin). One office says the other office has the money, and the other way around. Resulting in us having to wait several weeks for $2300 that is alot of money to most people.

The worst part is that it doesnt really seem to be an end to this anytime soon. They do what they can to stall, and never give any straight answers.

To be honest, they come of as unprofessional and unorganized. Not a good thing for someone that is trusted with high value assets and that takes a very high success fee for people to use their services.

Anyone with similar experiences to this? Or any advice?

Thanks

This is the first time I'm hearing this. IMO, there are better places to sell a website than Flippa ... I did not know something like this could happen, though.

Definetly agree that theres better alternatives.

But we went with Flippa on this due to the type of site it was combined with Flippas regular buyers interests.

Ive sold some sites in some shady places in my life. So i was looking forward to a smooth and professional transaction with Flippa haha.

The whole thing kinda sucks, and they dont seem to understand that "borrowing" our $2300 for weeks/months, kinda sucks for a regular human that depend on those amounts of money..

I have and Flippa account for many years and I sold quite a few websites through flippa escrow without any problems. They wire money always almost immediately or in a few days.

I never had this problem before with them either. I have sold 20-30 sites on there.
Thats why its shocking that this is happening now and they dont seem to care alot.

It is clearly that the market needs a new/competitive website that offers better services than Flippa. Maybe we should start a JV and clone Flippa ?
