There seems to be a growing consensus about the rising fees and dissatisfaction of Flippa. I've been seriously considering creating a Flippa clone to help buyers/sellers but I want to hear feedback from you before I start on it.

What are some features as a seller you would like to see in an improved version of Flippa? What are some features as a buyer you'd like to see improved?

on flippa they have on the left side where you can narrow your search by saying you want to search for a site making atleast $ amount of money per month but in so doing when you search that catagory it doesnt eliminate many of the sites

I believe it would work better if it worked by doing it less than a certian amount

This guy's already done it and we need to help this amazing competitor site rise to the top. Offer him your ideas, he's listening: I apparently cant post URL's here yet but search "Pricell" here on BHW Forums

What most people/companies coming up with "Flippa alternatives" don't realise that it's not the features that define whether a marketplace takes off or not, it's the buyers/sellers. "Build it and they will come" doesn't apply here - many have tried and failed miserably.

What you need if you intend to compete with someone as large and established as Flippa is a MASSIVE marketing campaign. You need both buyers and sellers and you need them quickly, as before reaching the critical mass no-one who sees the marketplace will ever re-visit it as it will look dead.

People can say whatever they want about Flippa's high fees or bad customer support but the fact that they have a ton of inventory, as well as hungry buyers, remains and this is the reason why everybody keeps (and will keep in the foreseeable future) going back to them.

I think where there are buyers, sellers will have to come. Like Fiverr, they attracted buyers at first because of their low price - and the sellers just came more and more even they charge 20% commission. Most sellers who sell high quality service needs to lower their price down to meet $5 per service rule.

As to me, I will always make a marketplace which attracts buyers as much as possible - then the sellers will be forced to come.

Joe, what could attract buyers if there's nothing to be bought yet?

Flippas prices are too high to list websites on..epescially if they dont sell

Your idea is appreciable and you are going on right way because in world many entrepreneurs are doing very well business through creating clones of popular websites. Customization of Flippa Clone is one of the best option because yet I haven't seen that any popular clone of Flippa website, so if you create Flippa Clone and compete more or less to Flippa then if would be very much profitable for you. If you find Readymade scripts with features of robust, scalable, user and search engine friendly script, less loading time script with cheap rate then prefer it first if your budget is very low. But I personally suggest custom development solution because it gives you,

- Robust Website
- Scalable Website
- 100% Copyright and Ownership of Website
- User and Search engine friendly
- SEO friendly Website
- Unique and Responsive design

You will find many 3rd party readymade script providers but you could only find NCrypted Technologies which is provides perfect solution for customized Flippa Clone.

I just looked it over and think Flippa's prices are way too high for established sites. They're taking advantage more than a realtor does when selling your home! Frankly, I was shocked...

Fame Swap is a better solution

There is no site for this even close to flippa. May be some experienced members from BHW should join to launch an alternative.
