Hi all

I have small flash games arcade with 350 registered members with verified emails. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to monetize? I was thinking of marketing something from clickbank or an mmo game. Anyone had any experience with arcade lists? Does the list really need to be in the thousands before making anything? Its gonna be a real pain in the ass to download the emails because the CMS is terrible so I will probably leave it for a while if it's only going to make a couple of bucks.

Cheers

Listen well to my kind words of wisdom. No one gives a fuck about your website in hoesnt to God reality. If it's not a brand like Armor Games, if it isn't even of honorably mentioned on Kongregate or Newgrounds, if you don't have a following on Facebook and Twitter or Pinterest, IF YOU DON'T HAVE TRAFFIC that is interested, your fucked.

The only way you make money is from having loyal fans. The best way is to start advertising the site as a brand like Armor Games. They make flash games and flash movies, they advertised, but you need to do more than that. Sorry, but the road ahead takes money, and you are on a forum where you can make your dollar stretch. Use the resources you have, and then finally after the smart work and sharp looking is done you will bank.

350 game site members is not worth much - i had a site with about 500k members and sold it a few years ago for 16k ( which was on the low side ) - best way to pull some money is sending out emails to your members with a maxbounty add ( survey ) and advertisers such as valueclickmedia coupled with xbox/ console affiliate deals. content lockers work well on any games page ( again survey or something like that )

I ran a flash website a coouple years ago and the market is so flooded and to really get people who know who you are takes a lot of money. I was just breaking even when Bozo the clown tried to sue me(literally bozo the clown)

Your website needs to be very good and needs to have ads in very specific places to make money. And even with that the adsense payout for flashgame websites is so low.

The only sites that go big are the ones that develop their own games.

Last time I looked into this, getting decent flash games developed for you costs $10k.

I was maybe a bit unclear - the site gets around 100k UV p/m (small for flash arcade I know) but the email list is only 350 people... Adsense, preroll integri and epicgameads averages about $1.8 eCPM which is pretty good compared to other niches I have been in but its not exactly mortgage cpc etc. I pay $200-$400 for games but they aren't complex, crappy dress up games go for as low as $100, agree that some of the really popular ones cost $10k+ and you need a strong distribution network to make that pay.

Thanks for the tips Bilbo, what sort of $$ did you make per member when you sent out cpa offers? Quite surprised that 500k member site went for only $16k - was that 500k visits or registered users?

Cheers
