- Spent 5 years building brand
- Google fuckin hates me
- Barely rank any more

Should I just make a new blog, copy over the content, and delete the old one?

Recently started a new blog (compelte different niche) and within 5 days I'm hitting #1 for my search terms, with less than 10 articles.

But my 5 year aged site is sat on shit pages, rank 67th .etc when I have progressive, rich content, 100% original.

Fix it
Dont waste what you build for last 5 years
I am sure their is no bigger problem

Try to find out why the old one doesn't rank. Do you have many backlinks pointing to your website?

If it doesn't work, import the content to a new domain and make a wildcard 301 redirect from the old domain to the new one. And if you want to rank faster you should get an expired domain.

Don't start again. That's just wasting your previous efforts, you need to power through.

Take a look at your site from a step back and see if you can work in a new strategy or even a new site design?

So I guess I could do a "soft" start again, buy a new domain, that's similar.

I've made some mistakes along the way, i.e. changing permalink structures, category structures, doing full on content rewrites.

Have just spent the last few months refreshing every article, only to realise I shouldn't be rewriting my content!

This is easier said that done.. I've got Ahrefs and SEMRush, done backlink checks; no toxic backlinks. I don't have many, but I have enough to warrant ranking for some long tails, or exact title searches.

I feel you and I know it sounds so easy for all of us to say "don't delete", just find out what is wrong.

But that is what I would do...

I can see from the way you asked the question, that you don't understand how SEO work. You can't copy an old content to a new website, it's called plagiarism and your new site won't rank at all. Find an experienced member who is good at SEO, show him the site, and let him tell you some tips.

You have too much ads....I guess

I suggest you try to grow your YouTube channel....it has a good potential

Hello,

May I ask you the reasons behind this? Why do you think this way and why you say doing full content rewrite is a mistake?

I'm pretty much doing the same thing right now and I really want to know your thoughts.

Please, this will really help me

So from the few people I've bumped into on here, they've been suggesting that I should not rewrite content because it should be left to age?
Updates are okay, but full rewrites are not.
I'm not sure how truthful this is, but seems there are varying opinions.

The ads are only recently added, to see if AdSense will make it jump the ranks :L

Try new url structure if you dare

The main problem that i see here is that you are all over niches, what does wordpress load faster has to do with localbitcoins and streaming platforms?

also get an ssl

Nah, it's my content, and I'd be putting in the appropriate redirects.

You're correct in this, but I don't understand why I'd suffer a sharp drop, I've always done content on making money, web, software.
Missing SSL is due to migration to WPXHosting, awaiting update on their side,.
