Fix for merge limit on profile?

When trying to merge I get the message

"An error has occurred while merging pages. This may be caused by your attempt to merge too many pages.

Contact us


If you think you're seeing this by mistake, please let us know."

Is there anyway to get around this to still merge pages? If not how long does it take for this to wear off? Or does it all? Adding other managers to the pages aren't possible because they are unpublished by facebook.

I had the same problem. What it was is I had apps I created under that account. I granted admin to another account, then deleted myself as admin, and was able to convert the profile to a page. Also, if you have fan pages, you'll have to do the same thing.
