Anyone else had this message today?

"We've launched a new category, that's just perfect for your Gig, so we've updated your Gig placement. What does this mean for you? Better visibility and the potential for more sales. But you need to update your metadata and pricing attributes in order to make it happen. Doing so now will ensure your Gig's performing at its best in its new home.

Please update your metadata and pricing factors, ASAP!

Thanks,
The Fiverr Team

It does not seem like anything on the gig needs changing however I'm sure I will have to update my aff links. This seems like a strategy to make sure that all gigs are in the right category, not for the user search experience but to curb the commissions they are paying to affiliates. My gig was in a section paying $25. I suspect this new section pays $15.

I might try and make a new gig or move this one back to that category and see what happens.

Has this happened to anyone in the past or is this a new thing they are doing. I have to be honest and say I have never had this message before and I have gigs listed all of the place so I would have thought if this had been ongoing I would have received one by now.

I experienced it last year or year before on my Virtual assistant gig that got moved from MARKET RESEARCH category to the new VIRTUAL ASSISTANT.
It's just an upgrade nothing else.

I experienced this 2 years ago with my 2 best-selling gigs. I'm pretty sure this led to an initial boost in impressions, clicks, etc. on both gigs initially, but everytime Fiverr "adjusts" something it results in my gigs suffering down the road.

Not sure why Fiverr is obsessed with adding in so many new categories- it makes the buyer experience worse having to sort through 5 different sub-categories as opposed to just having to go to 1 sub-category.

I'm glad it's not a new thing then. I guess it has taken them a long time to find me lol
