Fiverr 'processing fee' of $.50?

Does this apply to money you have in your fiverr account to purchase other gigs? I have not checked yet =/

Fiverr Network is trying to be a billion dollar company

Been with fiverr for years, spent well over $20k on there.. the day I saw this is the day I left. If fiverr was smart they would indeed stick to their roots.

This is definitely not gonna make them more popular... really bad move.

Thats a good way to drive DOWN sales. Less people buy, sellers get less customers, buyers and sellers will go find another website :)

They should have made it 5.55 in total and re-branded to FiverX3.

Surely this is a breach of trading standards? They call themselves Fiverr, but charge you $5.50. They should advertise the price increase prominently on the main page.

And I just realized it applies to every gig or extra you buy. Say you purchase three gigs, the fee is 1.5$, purchase a gig and two extras, the fee is 1.5$.
This is complete and utter bullsh*t.

ok, i guess we can agree on that, it was a bad move
i'm not doing much business over there now, but does it already reflect on the number of orders you guys getting? if it's effective since the beginning of Nov, one would expect an immediate impact and hopefully a not too big drop, but still a drop in sales, is this really the case?

Doesn't PayPal forbid this?
"Sellers may not charge a surcharge for accepting PayPal"

Do they just get away with this because they are also surcharging bitcoin's payments?

Guess thay have us all hook as there are limited alternatives

They're getting away with it, since it is a service fee on all payment types, not a PayPal surcharge. The fee is added to the total sum before heading out to PayPal to pay for your order and it's not classed as a PayPal surcharge.

I bought 2 gigs this afternoon and didn't pay it? wonder if it certain locations only or something ???

Essentially Fiverr is now trying to squeeze buyers as well as sellers. I think they will soon find out that this will lose them customers. That or they will change names to fivefiftyerr.com
