So I got back into the steering wheel and created a new website with original content, seo optmized and blah blah. Website is 2 weeks old. no backlinking done so far.

Im thinking about going to fiverr and hiring a guy to make a press release and hire another guy to submit it for me. I will probably do this in 30 days so my site can age a bit.

since all the new algo G released, what do you guys think of this plan? Is it still safe to get these services done through fiverr?

Any advice is greatly aprreciated
Trevor

hello guys. just checking back for today to see if anyone has any input in the original post?

thnx

Press Releases are a great way to get indexed & build some links. Obviously, the quality of the PR and how you distribute it is important.

Fiverr is just a payment processor, services are only good or bad based on the credibility of the seller, not the marketplace.

I used to offer PR services (via SEnuke) but I dropped them with Article Directories about 4-5 months ago. I'm personally not a big fan of them (with the exception of the ultra high quality ones like PRWeb) but some people still swear by it.

Nothing wrong with using fiverr as a source for a writer to put together a press release.

Fiverr is a good resource as long as you take time to pick whom to hire. But if you want quality distribution, better hire someone outside fiverr.

My advice would be to not skimp on a Press Release. There is a reason why some press releases are a few hundred dollars and others are only $5.

Keep in mind, that a Fiverr seller would be writing your Press Release for only $4 after fees. Personally, I wouldn't advertise one of my businesses with a $4 piece of writing. Also, not all distributions are created equal. There are a lot of junk press release sites, and only a select few good ones.

You could probably get a decent press release somewhere on this forum for around $50-$100.

fiverr is a waste of money. i brought more than 2k gigs and no project really ranked for long time. i am still buying cause i am reseller. with press releases you are on the right way but not much worth as long as they have no pagerank. better get real pr backlinks from somewhere else and take care of the footprints ;)

Have u tried seoclerks? They have some good seo and writing gigs, even better than fiverr. I have some seoclerks coupons that u can try. If u r interested, please pm me

I've bought press releases on Fiverr which were of really poor quality. I've also bought from oDesk and had people not deliver at all (ugh). My tips are to buy from US-based people and not spend more than $20 on a press release. Fiverr is okay, but talk to them beforehand and expect a 5-day lead time for the best writers.

Distributing with PRweb/PRbuzz/etc is a great idea and worth way more than the $5 people charge for it. If your press release is well-written, you can send it to bloggers and small news stations and maybe get some news out of it. (Depends on niche though).

Sincerely,
PressFag

With English as your first language it shouldn't take you very long to put together a press release yourself. Since you have full knowledge about the subject of your web site, it should take maybe 30 minutes.

It is, though, probably a more effective use of your time to let someone else handle the submission of it. It doesn't hurt even if you spend an extra $5 and try out a couple of different distribution services for variations of the release you want to put out there. (I am a seller on Fiverr, but I don't provide press release services)

You have to be careful with press releases now-a-days. A poor quality press release placed on a press release aggregation site will not help your rankings and may hurt.

If you do a press release, do a real one with newsworthy content, and have it sent to the major news wires.

I would get any exposure you can afford. As someone said some services here by forum members are better quality.

So, what about a press release for a musician? Wonder if I could get an article / review and have it published...

Appear at a benefit for someone, put out a press release announcing the event and another summarizing it.

this could be a good idea as long as you find someone that does good work on fiverr. that's all it depends on. there is good and bad on fiverr.

Why go all the way to Fiverr? There are some pretty good ones right here on BHW :) Check out my signature for one example.

I wouldn't call fiverr a waste of time. There are plenty of people shorting themselves on fiverr. I'm definitely doing work there that I should be charging way more for O_0. I would suggest contacting them before ordering .. feel them out a bit. Maybe ask enough questions so that you get a lengthy enough reply (at least you can see what kind of grammar skills they are working with at that point) Ya feel me ? =)
