Fiverr is now asking for identity verification

I've asked the CS about this topic and they replied to me today with this:

That is right, ID verification will soon be mandatory for all our sellers. The process is quite simple, you will be asked to upload your picture and a valid ID (passport, driver's licence etc.).

Fiverr want legitimate in the business.

Can't the verification docs be faked?
