I paid for a gig on Fiverr which was to be completed within 24 hours. The seller
doing the gig ran out of time and so they marked the work as delivered while
asking me for more time. The work had not been delivered to me.

I thought that was so low and underhanded that I gave a negative review and sent
a message to customer support about the incident using the Resolution Center. It
has been 5 days without a response from them although I have sent them 2 messages.

The seller in the meantime kept the money although their time ran out. I am going to
cancel my account there and use Odesk from now own.

Fiverr is a 5 dollar thing where sellers get 4 and fiverr gets $1

I would not expect ANY customer support for $1

If you are looking for great customer support I would suggest buying services that cost more than $5.

In the past I had speedy responses from customer support, but that have all changed now.

Once I was communicating with customer support, they suggested that if a seller ever marked
a gig as delivered but had not delivered the work, to give it a negative review and let customer
    support know.

@SocialMediaManager- Thanks for the tip. I will take this under advisement.

The seller does not immediately pocket the $4. It takes like 15 days to clear AFTER the gig has been marked as delivered. Anyways, Fiverr support is up to their neck with customers that just complain in order to get their money back without any reason (happened to me a seller). I'm not saying that's you...you of course have a valid reason.
Anyways it's weird.. once I was late for a delivery and the gig was automatically cancelled. Maybe they changed something.

Can you paste your two messages here? I might be able to tell you what's wrong. I had an issue with a seller and Fiverr's customer support was quite efficient in returning the funds to my account.

How about contacting the seller again and asking them the status. Maybe he needs extra time for genuine reason. Can't say..Also you can bump the support ticket too

If a person needed money, would it be better to ask you for it and wait on an answer from you? Or to rob you at gunpoint, taking the money they wanted. Well, that's how I feel about it, that they took all the time they wanted by marking the work as delivered instead of asking me and waiting on an answer.

By them marking that gig as delivered while knowing they had not delivered the work, is the same as stealing from me. Fiverr is going downhill if they continue to let this kind of thing happen.

There is a feature to request modifications on gigs. If the seller didn't deliver, you should have used that feature and told them they didn't deliver the work and needed to do so or you won't accept the order. I believe you can keep doing this until the order is either delivered or has taken so long that you can cancel.

Used their support once, tehy were great...but I guess they don't like boring people like you OP. I mean, you gave the guy negative feedback and you also want your money back..

Once I bought FB likes from there aroundabout 300k likes from same seller. He delivered the likes in given time. I was happy with it. Then after few days his all likes disappear. I contacted the seller . He refilled the likes for me again ., Few days after again my few likes dropped ., This time I contacted the Support to look into that matter . They just replied me 30 mins and gave me full refund of 300K likes which I bought even though I had 169K likes in my page !!

You should tell directly what's your matter is . , Problem in your case is coming because you have marked your gig complete !!

you could have rejected it, and asked the seller for a refund for being late, would have worked faster then contacting support.

Fiverr is what it is - even the time you have wasted with this is not worth it. Just carry on what you were doing, they will get back to you, but its not worth stressing over, it's only $5.

You have a good point there. $5 won't break me, it was just the principal of the thing to mark a gig as delivered while asking for more time. And what topped it off was Fiverr not responding.

I remember when Fiverr used to respond within that same hour. I think I will take your advice and just forget the whole matter.

    Thanks for everyones imput.
