You can use fiverr backlinks to boost your private blog network and the link juice will spill over to your money site without any penalty if there is one. You can buy certain links from fiverr and save yourself some time.
Avoid the bad sellers and do your research. A lot of factors will play a role in chances of your success, but yes. It is absolutely possible and doable.

I have not had good luck with feverr. The quality is low even for high rep providers like crork. There was a social bookmarking gig that was ok in quality but basically had no effect on serps. Be careful with anyone selling links from "my own aged high pr sites". These guys will pull the link after a few weeks while you're not looking.
I see no reason why not. Take 2.0s for example. As long as you talk with the provider and ask him if you can use a lot of keywords, your spinned article by hand at word and sentences level, your spinned title etc.. it works nice and cheap. If you let them scrape and article and 1 button spin it..then you may have a big problem.

I never said it was NOT worth it. I said most likely, it wasn't. And it probably isn't in my opinion.
There are some good sellers on Fiverr and some deals are good. But the majority of the "link wheels", "blog comments" etc are all spammed to death and are all useless. Some things are too good to be true, and on Fiverr, there are a load of these things.
Some good things to outsource on Fiverr would be social media backlinks, blog comments etc.
Bad things are Web 2.0 link wheels, manual high PR blog comments and so on.

I'd say the complete opposite: outsource the web 2.0 link wheels/pyramids and do your own blog comments. Blog comments are (quite literally) spammed to death while all providers of Web 2.0 link wheels/link pyramids use the high quality PR4+ sites anyways (like Tumblr/Wordpress/Xanga).
It doesn't matter how many people spam a site like Tumblr, it has a huge following of real users to legitimize your spam. Adding your link to a blog comment with 50+ OBLs on the other hand...

Question is so generic, answer is it depend on the quality of backlinks you are purchasing and kind of keywords you are trying rank for. Normally in fiverr backlinks are sold which can be created in less than 15 minutes. You should consider the ROI for those fiverr sellers too. So its your duty to find out real good sources from fiverr and apply it . To answer your question, there are many good service providers in fiverr.

I got scammed on fiver for fake pr7 links, however I've used one guy to rank a few of my sites now, his site is pr3 and my links have been live for a few months, def worth a fiver

I highly recommend going with feedbacks that have 0 negative rating but a huge amount of positive ratings.
