Greetings! I just started my first WP website a few months ago. I recently installed the Yoast SEO plugin after getting a list of keyword phrases to target. Now I'm confused on several of it's recommendations.

Keyword phrase example: auto insurance costs

I started optimizing my first page, the ABOUT US page. The SEO plugin lists 13 items to optimize using the keyword phrase. Here are some confusing ones:

1) The keyword / phrase appears in the URL for this page.
Originally my website looked like this: websitesampleURL/about-us. I had to put "auto insurance costs" in the permalink to get this checked off as optimized. Now it looks like this: websitesampleURL/about-us-auto-insurance-costs. Is this appropriate?

2) The page title contains keyword / phrase, but it does not appear at the beginning; try and move it to the beginning.
I can't figure this one out. My page was titled: ABOUT US originally. I then edited it to ABOUT US auto insurance costs. Nothing changed on the optimization setting.

Thank you in advance for any help. I have a million question, but I'll start with these 2 :D

First of all, your first post should be an introduction to the community instead of requests and demands. I know I come across harsh but my intentions are to help you out.
Secondly, I find people don't tend to help others that haven't contributed to this community what so ever. Being your first post I doubt you'll find much help here.

Now to help you with your problem, I wouldn't worry about the URL much. If that specific page is being optimized for your keyword, why not take out about-us to shorten up the URL. If you need further assistance (which you mentioned) hit me up on Skype.

I suggest you read the forum rules, and make an introduction post before doing asking any further questions.

Thanks Moosey. 10-4 on the intro. I'd love to contribute, but I know nothing about SEO :p

Little background on myself. Live in sunny, rainy, humid, Orlando, FL. I wear many hats: Speech Pathologist, Insurance Broker, Husband, Dad..etc. etc. Looked to expand my horizons this past year with a new insurance business which has led me here. A member from an insurance forum recommended this forum so I just signed up.

Thanks again. I look forward to learning and implementing what I learn from everyone.
