First time with SMM

I had my online interview yesterday. I told the client that it is my first time in doing SMM (Social Media Marketing). He told me to do a research on what SMMs do. Can you guys give me info on where I can get softwares or tools I can use for the job? I am a bit nervous and I honestly don't know what to do.

That's kind of like asking what an accountant does. Or what an engineer does. Or what a [super broad profession] does.

It's hard to recommend where/what kind of tools to get without knowing what the client even wants here.

"Hey I'm going to do some engineering. Can anyone recommend me some tools?"

"Oh yeah, just go down to Home Depot. Get a screwdriver. Maybe a few magnets. Oh yeah, and a drill."

Start with Hootsuite. It's a SMM platform and they have lots of user friendly articles about social media management and marketing. It's a very demanding job with lots of competition, make sure you want it before you invest more time into the interview process.
