How goes it? My name's Chris. Although for years I've been on and off this website dabbling in the information available, this is my first time posting. I've been working as a cook in a restaurant for the last 8 years or so. Recently I made a move up North to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho where I'm currently unemployed.
The other day I felt a spark of inspiration in the form of sudden interest to blaze my own path in this world, rather than becoming complacent at a dead end job like I've become so used to. Since then I've been doing a little creative niche-writing for a friend of mine who's been on this website for quite a while.
Upon visiting the content writing forum I was a little disheartened with how much competition there is for gigs. It also seems to be the case that writers are being paid less than what I remember, or offering their services for lesser compensation rather. My friend I mentioned before has been keeping me pretty busy and paying $5 per 500 words that I write. In all honesty - since I feel my way with the language and ability in being superbly original is a rarity, I find it difficult to imagine being paid less than that.
But that's OK! This recent realization only motivates me more.
So you can say my goal on this website is not only to expand my knowledge and horizons but to throw myself forth into the fray of getting shit done. Buying that domain name, hosting that website, picking a niche and not giving up on it, using my ability to put ideas into words to help lay a foundation for something even more financially rewarding in the future.
I'm sick of knowing that anything is possible, yet not being able to get out of my own way. Today is the day I release myself from the shackles of comparison and self-doubt.
