first time doing google adwords

so i want to get page 1 at the top for a keyword that estimated pay per click by adwords keyword planner at 2.10. Do I keep raising it and then googling the keyword until it is page 1 at the top. How long does it take for google to register it? Thank you.

CPC ( cost per click ) is just one of the factor in ranking ads. Other is QS ( quality score ) of your ads. It means - extensions, experience with your website, multiple ads for multiple kw's, ctr ( click through rate - If 100 people type kw, and 10 of them click on your ads - you had 10% CTR ). Hi, It depends upon the keyword Ad Rank.
Ad Rank= Quality Score*Bid.
Try to maintain 10/10 Quality Score. Your bid will automatically come down. For increasing Q.S, you need to use only 2-3 keywords in single ad group, Use Keyword in Ad Copy & redirect to the right landing page.
Ofcourse, you need to bid higher to rank. Initially try to put the bid that is suggested, going forward once you get a good Q.S, your bid automatically comes down. However if you need in detailed help, I can review your account and suggest you. You can P.M me .
