Just find that the bhw open an area for Chinese Weibo so I post a thread here. Weibo ad is now getting more difficult for audience and now more people now focus on another style of "weibo" provided by qq.com which we called it weixin. In China,163.com and sina own the largest users of "weibo" before QQ company launches this service. And most of this weibo ad are launched to promote products from taobao or tmall, etc. There are some platform provides weibo ad service as well but the price is normally high.

But would love to get involved but i guess its hard to even think with Chinese language and may be not possible for foreigners to get involved unless you know how to communicate.

Weibo is like our Twitter, but it's getting less popular right now. As far as I know they have developed english version. On the other hand weixin (english version - WeChat) is getting more popular. One of the main features - People Nearby (you can find people who are using WeChat in your area).

Well I had just heard about qq.com, weibo seems pretty big though, it seems that all people outside of China know little about it.

qq is like our skype, but it's not popular anymore. But weixin (wechat) is on its hight right now. As for weibo last year they earned $66 million (75% from advertising).

I am familiar with "weibo". This social networking site is based on Chinese language. Is there are any English version available of "Weibo"?

yeah it looks interesting, was wondering if anyone know what accounts are needed to post advertisment within the weibo.com? And which weibo is the best now to post local ads? QQ or Weibo?

Weixin|wechat is little similar than whatsapp and you can create albums pics.
It is possible to share pics and video but you have also call and video call ways.
You can add all your phone contacts, QQ contacts, Linkedin contacts, Google + contacts too.
Have chat multi user, but it is usualy used in Asia mostly.
