Alright so I have been reading up on the wealth of great information here and decided I was going to take a part of the potential money on the net. Came up with a great idea to take advantage of an already very large community that is not oversaturated with people trying to make money and implemented the idea into a website. I am completely new to website design, seo, and marketing, so every aspect of what I am doing has a lot of room for improvement. I do not want to give too many details on what I am doing for fear of the idea being stolen. Basically, I am attempting to get my traffic to be a very specific type of person, then I will give these people an incentive to do something they are already doing and then contribute content to the site about what they are doing. I am looking for a few good people to help me out with some tips and advice to bring everything as close to perfection as possible. I am very good at doing my research but there is so much information on this website alone that it can get confusing, so I just need some help with being pointed in the right direction. I hope to turn this thread into a kind of log on the process of the idea and how profitable it is. If I am successful I will eventually share all the details so that some of you can implement some of what I am doing into your own projects and I will move on to the next thing that catches my interest. Thanks

Read this quote first!!!

"I do not want to give too many details on what I am doing for fear of the idea being stolen"

Well that just killed your thread!!

That's a bit harsh, IMHO. I think it's quite reasonable for Battlepope to want to protect his idea, and at least he's not like the thousands of clueless newbies who drift in here without an original thought in their heads and simply expect to be spoonfed.

However, with no real info to work on, it is a little difficult for anyone to understand the concept (and therefore offer any useful advice).

If we don't know what you're doing (or trying to do), we cannot help you.

beyond eye rape. I went cross-eyed trying to read it.

I agree with Kez ... you just killed your thread. You do not need to spell out your method. Just give out enough to get a talking point. Or scratch the method altogether and ask for help in specific areas.

I had to learn this the expensive way. Do not wait to perfect your idea. Put something together, and then launch. The areas you are most worrying about right now will rarely be the exact same ones that your paying customers will care about. Launch quickly. Update quickly. When you have a few paying customers, you can afford to hire people to take care of the stuff you are not so good at.

Come on guys - "one post" + "I do not want to give too many details on what I am doing for fear of the idea being stolen" = SPAM!!

i think his plan is:

1. make a post on his "story"...
2. do not give anything away...
3. receive pm's from n00bz...
4. ask for a JV.. and scam the F out of people...

BAN!!!

Alright I am a little bit surprised with the feedback here I have seen many new people on this site being pointed in the right direction by the very helpful members here. I am not trying to scam anyone and as far as not wanting to release too many details it is because I know that there are many more people browsing these forums looking to make a quick buck then there are actual members just trying to help the community out. As far as my post count being low I AM A NEW MEMBER. It is not possible for me to just register and have 1000 posts. I have not been able to post anything helpful on other topics as I am still learning and do not want to give someone misleading information.
That being said I am simply trying to make this idea successful so that I may learn something from it and return the favor to BHW by doing what I can to help other members out, I had thought that this was the point of these forums. Now, I have no problem with posting some more details but I will not put exact details that would allow some of the more knowledgeable a$$holes on the internet to scoop the idea out from under me. Basically, the first aspect of the site I would like to monetize is the forums. There is an incentive for users to submit their own content to the forums. I do not know a whole lot about psychology but I would assume that if you have a community which has an incentive to submit content for prizes etc and you do things such as put ads on the forum for freelance article writing then these ads should do fairly well. Having said this, at this point I am simply looking for ideas to get this rolling. If you need any further details feel free to request them here. I have signed up with CJ and adsense and am experimenting with the placement of ads on the forum itself.

P.S. I do apologize for the eye rape, I have not had much experience with posting in forums and have learned a lot in a very short time, you will have to excuse me if i mess something up that small. I hate to say this and sound rude but some of the replies here weren't exactly helpful. If you don't have something constructive to say, then back out of this topic and go elsewhere. If you are just going to rip on me for having a low post count or asking for help then go ahead and f**k off, I didn't start this topic to receive deconstructive criticism or as a breeding ground for trolls, Thanks.:D
Also, thanks to the people that actually did have something constructive to say,

I have gone ahead and launched the site. I have not done much in the way of advertising for it but it should not be difficult as I have a very specific, very large target audience that is not being utilized to make any money off of. I will go as far as saying that the target audience is already doing what I want them to do, they have just not been offered an incentive to do it and submit content about doing it until now.

I'm sorry but I can't read your last post. In fact I don't want to try to read it.

Please use paragraphs.
