After a bit of a break due to other interests taking far too much time, I started again with IM, have learned abit, read abit more, and mulled it over for 12months. I have some new ideas.

Well I started my autoblog 7 days ago, I set someone off backlinking it yesterday, got my first search engine hit about half an hour ago.

Google has got me #3 for a long tail in 7 days, which I figure aint bad. I'm still tweaking but think it might be time to let it be for a couple of weeks and see how things progress.

Time start blog number 2................................

Congrats for the first hit!

Only one word of caution (actually two)- Keep Digging!
:D

Digging? Autoblog, I love autoblogs as they are such weak competition to us hardworking bloggers ;)

I actually agree with that, however I can't write decent prose, no matter what. My plan is to re-invest some of the income in some real articles to help make them "interesting"

Today, Yahoo has found it's first inbound link, google still reports no links, looking at the access logs, it's had atleast a couple of reports for spam :(

However it also made it's first 8p today :D

Now getting a hit most days on some long tail search, and got 10 backlinks according to yahoo.

Made a total of 22p so far.

Just thought I'd keep you informed so people can see how things take time.

I'm learning as I go, so not much point really, there is already plenty of step by steps around from people far more qualified than me.

Okay, for the newbies, what steps surprised you that worked and didn't work?

Well I'm still looking for something to make the content suitably non-duplicate. However I also appear to be climbing the ranks gradually with out. Would I be climbing any faster with unique content?? Who can tell.

I also have a blog that I setup to test my system, that has never had any backlinks built, and is nothing more than a test harness, google has sent visitors there twice, on one long tail I am #3 by complete accident. No backlinks, no unique content, it just happened. And the 2 that out rank me, neither are my source. Domain and site are probably no more than a month old, and it's been rebuilt\stripped out re-pinged maybe 10 or so times. I was surprise google sent visitors there but it just shows.

On my project site, we are now upto 10 indexed pages, 28 backlinks (Yahoo Siteexplorer), No extra income today though.

I'm away for a couple of days from today, but as of this morning we are up 12 pages indexed, and 34 backlinks according to yahoo. I report again when I get back next week.

The site according to Yahoo now has 30 pages indexed, 80 inbound links, and is currently getting about 3/4 search engine hits a day.

The information from yahoo that I am logging in this thread, is there anyway to automate the logging of it so that I can keep records as I build more sites?

Now got 33 pages indexed, and 132 inlinks.

Think the spiders and feeds are decreasing abit, maybe I'm over pinging, so I'm going to look at some of ping maximiser type plugins.

great achievement

Congrats for the first hit!

are you keeping your rank?
thats the hard part i find.
its easy to rocket to page 1, hard to stay on page 1.
one wrong fart and away you go!
