Hey, so I made my first sale via my e commerce store (tangible item). The guy paid 100 bucks for it during the purchase and I paid 50 for the drop shipper. Seven days later I receive a dispute on paypal - the guy claims that he did not receive the item. I check the tracking code on the USPS website and I see that the item was delivered on 23th February... (shipped on the 21st). How should I deal with this? Thanks.
I have this all the time @ ebay.. just provide tracking number and website to check. and you will win.
Why does it even matter if you are dropshipping? The delivery should be insured right, especially if it shows delivered. sent from my HTC Evo Shift
op says USPS updated, means he has tracking number and still disputed. Are paypal will really refund the money? op please update then.
You will win the case if he is disputing on the means that he didn't receive it as long as you shipped to his PayPal verified address. If you did that and have provided the tracking number you will win the case. Though as a rule of thumb, you should try to sort things out with the buyer before it even becomes a case. Did he contact you before he opened the case? Did you email him the tracking number when you received it?
Just show the proof to the paypal that his item was already delivered and you could win the case easily if the address on his paypal is same as the once shown in the tracking.
Don't wanna go off topic here but it doesn't matter how much you attempt to remedy a situation, some people will file a just file a dispute regardless. To the OP, as stated before just give paypal the tracking and all info you can to prove that the guy is talking out of his arse and you shouldn't lose any of the money.
I did what you guys said and everything went fine - I won the dispute...but the dispute battle is not over yet: "xxx has appealed case #PP-001-687-152-235 and asked us to decide the outcome because they said the item they received doesn't match your original description." It is strange that they let him appeal again cause that should clearly tell paypal that the buyer is full of crap cause now he admits that he has been lying about the previous dispute...
In that case he must have lost all credibility...he is basically saying that he lied about first dispute. Sorry to hear about your problems though, hope you win the dispute and can move on.
OP, are you 100% sure about the trustworthiness of your dropshipper? This doesn't happen much often if your dropshipper has shipped an item as per the description. This is the problem with dropshipping, you don't get to see the item that is being shipped out. You should talk to the buyer directly first.
this is the issue with PP, they (if humans ever look at their end) can see the buyer is full of it yet they let their automatic systems take over all the time and buyers get away with it all the time
