Sorry, I was out picking up a friend. The legal jargon is all there and legit. Since I already talked about it, I will say my first one was to review you college. Of course if someone does a search for University of Phoenix, most likely, the UOP site will come up first, but with skills that I don't have, im sure some of you guys can make amazing things happen.
You can also put in your user agreement that by submitting, the user agrees to be contacted by potential schools. Have you guys ever sold a university lead? We are talking super amazing cash.
My first scholarship was actually a general scholarship for any student.

So you are actually paying for the scholarship? And just making a website based on offering this small scholarship?
Then you you have the applicant write 500-750 words on whatever topic you pick? Whatever niche you needed I would assume.
Then you submit to big authority scholarship sites w/ your scholarship & site?
Then individual Universities (with the .edu's) link to your site w/ the scholarship?
Why would they not just link to the big authority sites that have your scholarship listed on there?
So basically it is a way to get well written niche articles for free? And the .edu backlinks just serve to up your site in the search engines & continue the niche articles?

You are exactly right and the reason the universities dont just link to the big authority is because they like neat little list of scholarships to make students believe there is tons of scholarships available for the school.
The big revenue comes from:
1.Sending out updates to your applicants
2.sending out winner information to your applicants
3. having tons of content to whatever with
4. selling application information
5. selling leads to schools.

Thanks. How much did you make your scholarship for? What is the least amount you could do? $100-$200?
You just include in the TOS that applying to the scholarship allows you to do numbers 1-5 in your post? Do you have an example of what is would need to say? You can PM if you dont wanna share. I wont use it word for word.
How much do schools pay for leads typically?
Do you ever email them other related CPA/affiliate offers? Maybe ones towards students.

how in the heck would one sell leads to colleges tho?
find the state they live in and colleges in their area,

Awesome first post, its created some very interesting conversation.
Probably one of the more unique methods I've stumbled across for getting backlinks. My son has filled out more applications and made more comments than I can count, so I know you have a market that is ravenous!

The one unclear part for me of this the mailing list...do you use a service? That's the best way to keep from being blacklisted...but then you have to pay. ConstantContact is something like $150/month for a list with 10K subscribers...it goes up from there. There goes your profit margin.
Then, I'm trying to figure out the integration of the submission with the mailing list. I've got VAs that could handle entering the submission as a blog post (but 40K of them??)....OR I could use an email-to-blogpost function...then there's the automation of getting their info into my list. Aggghhhh. Custom programming??

As he said above $50 - $100.
The CPA networks are FULL of education lead offers. They pay well and if you are delivering real leads they will love you for it. There is a lot of scamming going on in the Edu leads game so they watch closely.
Man this is a great idea and I agree, best first post in history! I would advise you though, do not give out any of your sites, link or content here. People will jump on this, copy it and dilute your income greatly.

Where are the best places to sell edu leads? Also, can you fill out those leads on those offers yourself?

Hmmm.....I tried this technique. Setup a site, and tried submitting it to scholarship directories, but not even one would list my site!
