Well, what I normally do is first send a welcome message without anything to sell to build a relationship with my target audience first. Then provide some value in that particular niche and only start promotions after a few days.

The thing is that if you scraped the contacts, the audience is 100% cold. You need to gradually worm it up before trying to sell anything. Make 1-2 emails with some useful content, so they don't throw them into the spam folder.

Hello,

From my experience as SMTP provider would be really helpful to sent a welcome email prior sending an offer., this is something usually my clients do as well to build trust.

Also you should be careful with scraped lists since may include spam traps and also would be highly useful to remove bounces from your list as well.

Hope the best at your email marketing journey.

Regards
Teo

Generally the first email is a welcome letter. You thank the customer for signing up and buying. Then before you send them promos, research your niche and send 1-2 emails that provide them value. Then do the promos. You could organize your email in a 2 to 1 ratio in terms of value and promo.
