First Local SEO Client this Saturday. Any tips?

Hey BHW first of all thanks to everyone on this forum for helping me get this far. I started reading BHW and GSA forum over a year ago and have since turned to IM full-time. I usually post in the Black Hat SEO section but I think this might be a more appropriate sub-forum.

So I have a meeting this Saturday with a client who wants me to help her get seen in Google AND grow her social media audience. She has a website setup through Square where she processes transactions so I'm going to help her setup a domain name and link it to her existing website. Her relative helped me out with some stuff so I'm not charging her for that.

We still haven't discussed a budget, but from her social media accounts it looks like she is just getting started growing her business. Basically doing eyelash extensions and eyebrow threading. She has a couple of social media accounts already setup.

I have the pricing down, right now I use FollowLiker to grow my IG but could easily learn Massplanner if needed to for Facebook and Twitter. Plan is to target competitors in her area and follow/like their followers.

As for SEO I have GSA SER and Scrapebox for lower tiers. Besides the basic diversity link building and business citations, along with some .edu links, am planning to use guest posts from real sites.

Anyone have any suggestions? This is my first client ever but I am confident in what I know but if you guys have any tips I would really appreciate it!

You have to keep in mind that her customers are going to be local. So using tools like follow liker are not really going to help her out much.

Get submitted to Google maps, Bing and so on
Make sure she has a profile set up in Yelp, city search, Manta and so on.
She doesn't need several Facebook, twitter, IG accounts. She just needs one. Having a ton of people following her in other places is not going to help her with her business.
Check to see if she is part of any chamber.
Do a press release once she launches the site.

This should help get you going in the right direction.

Thank you for the advice! Will definitely do a press release totally forget about that

Update: meeting went better than expected. Sold them on a branding package to put their site on search engines to start off.

Could have gone smoother but atleast I know what to improve on.

If you want to impress her with little effort/cheap price I suggest browsing through themeforest for a theme for her website. You can find decent professional looking designs at low cost.

Congrats! The first client is always the hardest to get. Hopefully it'll be all uphill from here!

Here are tips to keep in mind:

• Get pricing on the table in the first meeting.
• Charging for "value provided" versus hourly is better, but tends to scare off clients because it seems like you're picking numbers out of the air.
• Ensure that pricing is figured out for the little things too. I'm not sure what you're fully providing, but as an example, I had an hourly rate for one-off things and I charged a minimum of 1 hour. If they somehow borked their site layout, I charged a minimum of 1 hour to go in and fix it, even if it only took 10 minutes. They were aware of this from the get-go so they weren't upset paying me for 1 hour when the site was back online in 10 minutes. This also allowed them to "save up" little projects that weren't mission critical until they knew they were going to cross my 1-hour threshold. That meant less calls for me, and more value for them.
• Take great notes while you're there. Note anything you have no clue about so you can ask about it here. You don't want to have to call your client 20 times with individual questions, that will look very amateur.
