Hi everyone,
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has posted their journey online. I have read a few threads and finally, I started taking action. I will keep this short.
A little about me
I was working as a content writer but lost my job to corona. The entire company was shut down. I have read a lot about SEO, FB Ads, Google Ads and also did some small projects but I was never consistent or patient. But now, I need to earn to survive. Here is the progress:
Domain - Already had the domain that I purchased two years ago. Partial match and brandable.
Hosting - Shared WP hosting Namecheap
CMS - Wordpress
I was looking for a theme that was minimalistic, fast, and clean. I started with generate press free version. But the nav bar was just too ugly and the colours available were not matching the color scheme that I had in mind. Searched on BHW and found the premium version.

For keyword research, I followed the exact steps given in this https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/method-using-ahrefs-to-find-weak-competitors-their-keywords.1162572/. Thanks to @RealDaddy.
Now, I had a list of keywords. But it was still very confusing. How do I go about creating pages or posts? I know internal linking is important so I wanted to have a clean structure that was at least logical.

It took me two days to figure out what to do on my site. I am very slow. This analysis paralysis is a real pain in the ass. So I have decided not to overthink and just implement things.
"important pages should not be more than 2 clicks away from your home page". I remember reading this on various guides and posts. I have 5 important pages that are the best 10 guides. I have placed them on my homepage, they are in the nav bar and also show up in the right side bar of each post. Maybe I am overdoing it but it seemed more logical in my niche.
plugins that I am using: Rankmath, Tablepress, i2 Pros & cons, Smush, Elementor Add ons, Table of contents plus, List category posts, and Permalink customizer.
2 posts are up.
I am learning about everything as I go. It took me half an hour to understand how to display my menu in nav bar. That is where I am right now. And my goal is to earn 100$ per month from this site.
