First Adsense site - Check stats and discuss.

Site is just under 2 weeks old. The Niche is gaming. I have been playing with ad placement and different categories in Adsense. Just wanted to see what some opinions on the stats below are. Is there any reason I have such a LOW CTR? The stats are for the last 3 days. All search traffic and targeted well.


I obviously know that they are not good :) :D What is the main thing I should focus on to increase my CTR?



Traffic is increasing daily by over 25%

Analytics

570 Visits 1.204 Page Views

Adsense-

Impressions - 774 Clicks - 7 CTR - 0.9% eCPM - $1.87 Earnings- $1.45


Also, I dont know if it matters but the site is not ranking in Google for any keywords yet. All pages are getting indexed super fast. Still working on SEO.

I removed one Adsense ad, and replaced 2 with Text/Image rather then just Image. My CTR then went up and I made double the days earnings in a few hours. I will know tomorrow how much of a difference such a little change made. I will update then.

Also, Gaming niche is horrible.

My friend is getting 3k visitors per day and only making 3 dollars a day on Adsense.

Go figure.

I have heard this from many people before but that does not discourage me. My ad placement has been checked by a few people and all agreed they are in the best spots. I will still PM you to see what you think though. Thanks.

I made 3 dollars today, my 3rd day of Adsense with lots of site down time and only 280 visits. (Traffic is picking up daily) The site is not finished yet and has no Google Ranking Keywords. I think it will pick up. If not, oh well, it was fun to do something different. :D I have other sites that make pretty good money but they are pretty much Auto-Pilot now. Figured I would try something new.

i would be happy if my site was 2 weeks old and got 700 hits a day!!

Yeah, me too! Especially as he isn't ranking in Google for any keywords yet. Can you explain a bit how you do this, onthegoaudio1? By the way i have a gaming site too (old dos games), and it is converting very bad, only 0.21 CTR.
 
Yes I am curious too as you said it is all search traffic but yet you have no Google rankings. What search engine is your traffic coming from then? Usually my newest blogs are indexed by Google in 2-3 days at most. The others seem to take forever. Or is it PPC SE traffic?

All traffic is coming from Yahoo and Bing. As of now the site is getting 600+ visits a day and still growing. The sites pages are now indexed in google but I am not ranking well for anything yet. Still building backlinks and working on that.

My Adsense CTR is still between 1-3% I keep playing with ad placement and colors ETC. I think I can get it up to around 5-7%.

For my first Adsense site I am happy with the learning experience. I have moved to a few different niches and think I will do WAY better in other areas. I still plan on working on the site and keeping up with it.

Your doing fantastic! I let the gaming niche sucks discourage me and moved on. Learned my lesson that you cant always listen to everyone else
 
It look like whatever keyword you are looking for is a bad market. Youn shoudl put 1 ad in top righ conner and link ad in side bar .
