First 2 logos made in illustrator, feedback?

Hey, I just got Adobe Illustrator, and made these logos.
I would really appreciate to hear what you people think about it! What could I have done to make them better?

Logos look pretty good for a first try.
First one looks a lot like the "aperture labs" logo from Portal, but just in blue.
Nice colors and aesthetically pleasing, but do they have a meaning? I think the best logos are which are also designed so that they take into account the meaning or purpose of the company they are made for.

Graphically speaking, they both have an aesthetically pleasing look, especially the blue logo.

Experiment with color combinations, font styles, etc. Otherwise, well done.

Looks good, and great for learning the tools.
But nothing original. Try to sketch out ideas first.
