I just had my first 100$ day today - $187 in fact. I'm no stranger to making money online, But 99% of what i get is from referrals. Well today i got my first 100$ from my own website (not referral income!). I know a $187 isn't that amazing for some of you, But i can't help but feel so very proud and excited! I owe it all to you guy's and the amazing advice and help you give on BHW! :D

All traffic came from bookmarks and search engines. bing/yahoo. Google hates me haha but honestly, I figured i would spend more time working with a search engine that does not want to eat my face every 10 seconds and focus on earning the green, seems to have worked!

Thanks BHW members - You're all amazing!

Heres my locker stats, Not posting my other monetization screens. Ill add that the locker is OPT OUT. there is an exit button, But people seem to enjoy the software download.

Well, I'm certainly not going to go blurting it out. But i can tell you there is no sales on the website. It's pure ad revenue (cpm 14% CTR on the niche). I just never had the traffic to make it worth anything before now.

    Well done bro.

    <rant>
Can I just say.. If I hear one more person tell someone else to 'scale up' I'm going to scream.

Half of you sit there talking about 'scaling up' as if it's as easy as just moving a slider a few notches up.

It's like um, yeah, gee thanks I hadn't thought about scaling up.. The only thing all of us are ever doing is SCALING! We don't need to be told "wow, gratz dude, now scale up!" by some noob who's read a few threads and thinks he's a damn pro.

I am going to say one more time to OP to scale it up. Now you can scream :)

The reason i told him to scale it up coz most of us stop doing what we are doing when see money is coming. nothing is easy in life. so take it easy stop calling us noob coz you are the one who think you're damn pro

Most people stop working when they start making money? Really? Where do you get that wonderful statistic from?

In my experience it's the opposite. Most people work harder during success and quit during failure.

I think I'm a pro? Why? Because I'm sick of hearing noobs obvious crap like "NOW SCALE UP!" every 5 minutes whenever someone creates a thread about success? It's BS. People do it because it makes them look as if they're sitting on $5k/day and handing out advice from their own experience.

The truth is, if you weren't a noob you would know that a lot of stuff CANNOT be scaled up.

You can't just push the 'SCALE ME' button 10 times.

He's doing SEO/bookmarks. We don't know where he's ranked.. It's not the sort of thing you can scale up. He can build more sites, expand his site or maybe build a list but the only thing you can really 'scale' is bots/spam and to a lesser extent paid advertising.

Even in paid advertising you can't just move a slider. Usually you're already peaked out if you're profitable. To scale you'd have to increase bids which will potentially damage your profitability.

The whole 'scale up' thing is used by a few people that know what they're talking about, and consequently noobs pick it up and start talking about scaling their cat up. lol.

Think there could be a profit in that niche? :p

As for scaling up, The niche I'm in scaling up is as simple as getting more traffic and finding better monetization methods, thats about all that's available. Other then a complete design rehall (Current design seems to be juicing CTR at it's maximum though).

Yeah, one doesn't really 'scale up' in SEO etc.

The term 'scaling up' was used a lot for stuff like posting on classified ad sites where scaling up meant going from 10 posts to 100, to 1000 and so on.

It's just silly because it's not like you were going to just sit on your ass was it? You didn't need some guy telling you to scale up, lol :) I'm sure you already planned on getting more traffic, building more sites etc. It's your business and you have your own business plan to follow.

    Hehe, definitely :)

My dad used to keep asking me to build a bot for him where he could just push a button and make money. :)

Actually now you mention it, it is interesting that you've gone after bing. I've never been a fan of SEO due to the nature of Google. I tend not to like unstable businesses. If I put in 3 months work I don't want it all to go down the drain because of some search engine change.

Bing however looks interesting as a supplement to getting traffic in via media buys + social.

I'll hit you with a few questions if you don't mind:

    1) Traffic

Right, so I see there's a bing keyword tool here http://www.bing.com/toolbox/keywords

Did you use the bing keyword tool to find keywords that have a good search volume on bing, or did it just happen that a niche you had picked had a lot of volume on bing?

I haven't researched this, but everyone up until you now, has said they get about 2-5% of their search volume from bing and 90%+ from Google. I've also seen a lot say the bing traffic doesn't convert.

    Possible reasons:

    A) They've just researched niches that have high volume on google, but not so high bing volume
    B) Perhaps bing has gotten *significantly* better for marketers in the past 3 months.

So for simplicity's sake I'll re-phrase the questions:

Q1) Did you use the bing keyword tool to find a niche with a lot of bing traffic.
Q2) What % of your traffic is from bing and what % is from social. This is key one since if 90% is from social then bing still isn't terribly hot for marketers.

$187/day is a very good chunk of change for 1 web site with SEO, so if it's mostly from bing then that makes bing a very serious consideration.

    Thanks!

wth are you going on about..? :-/

Why do people ask such retarded questions. How is that useful at all? How will that help anyone make money?

This is as useful as asking what kind of car he drives. It puts people off answering questions when they get hammered by basic useless questions.

He could be using ANY network. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE! Any legit network will pay. Pick one and push traffic.

Or are you trying to fish for his niche by asking this? Pretty lame.
