In case you haven't seen the news, Firefox 4.0 Final has been released. I've been using v4 since the early betas and it's been great. The best part is that all of my favorite extensions have v4 compatible versions, so I'm good to go (it was tough in the early betas before the extensions had been updated).

Windows, Linux and Mac

lol @ ff4, i just installed it and i cannot load this thread with it at all, it says some coding error contact the site owner, so i reverted back to 3.6.15 :)

Chrome is awesome as well, but there are a few Firefox extensions that I use which aren't available in Chrome yet.

For those who want to try Firefox v4, but don't want to install it...give Firefox Portable a try. It runs without installation (everything is saved in the directory structure). I've been using portable/no-install software (including Firefox) for years now.

Code:

I changed from using Firefox to Chrome over 1 1year now. It is more lightweight and smooth.

WATCH-OUT for CHROME, because just like BIG BROTHER, rust never sleeps!!

didnt you notice that the new firefox looks well less like firefox and more like ie or chrome? I don't like it personally....

Well I finally downloaded the final version after testing out 2 of the beta versions.

All my plugins work but one which was tinymenu. I found a replacement to get rid of the menu all together solving the problem.

All my SEO tools are working with it.

I'm a huge Firefox "fangirl" BUT I still have the lingering font issue that it had in the beta. You can somewhat fix it by turning OFF hardware acceleration but then you lose out on the speed increases. So you get fast speeds and bad fonts or slow speeds and somewhat clearer fonts.

In terms of look and feel, you can make the browser look like anything you want so this shouldn't really be a complaint or even a benefit since that can be done with every other browser these days.

The font issue needs to be fixed and should have been fixed before the final release. That's my big complaint.

still slower than chrome 10 and no native flash and pdf.

Used to love Firefox, but Chrome has really stolen my heart. FF4 won't be changing that I don't think :P

i'm also using ff portable for years now, it's how convenient that you can take your browser with you with your bookmarks, extensions, settings, saved passwords and access it anywhere/use it the way you like

ff w/o addons can easily freak me out :D

Hangs for me :p

Chrome all the way!

Hangs all day! I installed it a couple of days ago and uninstalled it a hour later. Useless for me. Tried Chrome once but Mr. G is a skank and he's out too!
