What is the best method to find work as a content writer? Someone recommended this site to me so here I am. I heard I can get like $5 for a $500 word article.

I'm going to school for Enlgish literature and I think it's a great way for struggling writers to support themselves.

I appreciate the help guys, and I'm glad to have found this site. :D

well, try ezine and associated contents. learn basics and produce unique contents. good chance of earning .
 
Here will be your best bet. Offer some freebies and if your work is good it is highly likely that one of those who took your offer will ask you to do some paid work. Fiverr is great for article writing and is great for establishing long term clients.

Only thing i'd say is avoid oDesk and most free lance websites - Youll start to notice most people only want to pay $1-2 for an article, quality articles are worth much more than this.

Starting out doing it for free might be worth a shot. Wouldn't want to get too carried away before you tried to convert it into some business of course, but still a good idea.

Interesting, I haven't heard about textbroker before.. too bad it's only for US residents though ;/
 
Try dropping a friendly note to Websites. Ask them if they are interested in content articles for their website. Do not mention your fees in you first inquiry letter.

Offer longer articles than the usual 500. Charge more than $25.00.
$100.00 for technical articles if you can stand writing in that genru. Sell packages of 10, 20, or 30 articles. This will pay your bills very well.

Pick male oriented sites that probably have a large budget such as architects and finance. Stay away from Mom and Pop websites and topics like acne, weight loss. They don't have a lot of money usually.

You will get all of the work you can handle by contacting websites yourself and working on your own terms.
