Finding the best hashtags & how to use

How do you guys find the best hashtags?
There are tons of pages showing me the most popular hashtags, but I guess this would only be valid for an account that consistently gets ~10,000 likes plus (my main account is currently at only 400). But if you don't, shouldn't it be better to target less popular hashtags...just how do I find them? Any help?

Also better stick to the same hashtag set or change them ever so often?

try various combinations of your main keyword you want to target using instagrams keyword suggestions

take your average likes x1000 and if you find a relevant hashtag go for it.

So let's say you get 1000 likes normally you want to find a hashtag with 1,000,000 posts.

ah..that actually makes sense. Still other than guessing it really leaves me with lots of options to try out. Anyone knows of a tool to do research with?

ah this is actually not the worst tool. Still a lot of manual work and not what i'd be ideally searching (no semantic linking etc..) but decent all around. Just researched another keyword set and let's see how it goes

Usually I look at accounts with huge niche followings to check out what hashtags they used, since I figure they get the best results.
