I was let go from my job last week because "theres not enough work" is what I was told. So now I am trying to find some freelance stuff until I can land another job.

Any ideas on where I can look to get some small work? I have tried most of the freelance sites but being a new member on them I am not getting any results? I can do web design, video editing, 3D graphics and pretty much anything web related. I also have a pretty decent LinkedIn account with my experience on it thinking I might be able to land a few small jobs from there, but just getting new connections.

Wish I could get the concept of IM but I tried it last year and didnt make anything with it doing the YT + game beta, hacks method, so I dont want to waste my time doing that again. (dont get how some are making $5k a month doing it)

Appreciate any advice you can give.

Don't take me wrong but I doubt you can

As most people struggle to only even master one of those.

Focus on one of them and take a look at offline money making. If you know what you're doing, call some smaller companies in your area and offer your service. Not everything has to happen online :)

I have tried offline with local companies. I live in a small town and the closest bigger city is over 60 mins away. I am more focused on the web design aspect because that is what I am better at out of all my skills.

Well, then maybe think about trying to generate passive income through selling your layouts on the web? From what I've seen, there's also a good amount of money, as long as the work you provide is good. Any chance finding a job like the one you had in your area again?

If you are in or near a "need money" situation, use craigslist & forums - you will only get (very) low-paying jobs probably, but hey...

For long-term, well paid projects, LinkedIn is your friend. Takes more time to build a network but it pays off.

I have replied to all the CL ads I feel I am qualified for and use the freelance sites as well. I have my LinkedIn profile finished and I am getting some good amounts of connections going, so its just time now.

As far as finding a job like the one I had, I am submitting resumes and applications to all that I can find.

How about Fiverr? Create gigs for all the things you can do and I'm sure you'll land a couple sales while you look for other things you can do.

Man I never thought this would be so hard. Anyone have an oDesk gig for design they need done to help get my feedback up? For some reason I cant seem to land anything.
