Finding even more places to post backlinks

Hi, first off, this may well be obvious to some people but from what I have seen alot of people are not doing it.

This trick works for pretty much any blog / guestbook but we will use the Coppermine Gallery target as an example (which [begin shameless plug]BHW backlinkbrigand.com Special[end shameless plug] posts to)

First of all do your normal scrape for keywords and then start posting as per normal. You will then get a list of sites that were sucessful and those that were not.

So, what you actually did was just post to a single page within each of these websites so since we were able to post to a single page we must be able to post to other pages as well.

So, open up Notepad and paste in all the successful links and replace http:// with the word site:

Replace anything after the ? with a * or any number with an * (The * is a wildcard search in Google)

so for example

http://www.mywebsite.com/displayimage.php?album=7&pos=1

becomes

site:www.mywebsite.com/displayimage.php?*

It's a little bit tricky but basically you are saying to the search engines, show me all the pages within the website (hence the site: command) and then use the wildcard character * to get any album.

So, fireup you favourite scraping tool and use the above links as keywords
(e.g. site:www.mywebsite.com/displayimage.php?*) and you will have a ton more places where you can post links; too easy

Thanks for the great tip. I'm stuck on one little thing - is there an easy way for me to find the ? and replace everything to the right with ?* using the find/replace tool in notepad?

I tried a couple things but can't figure it out.

It would be a huge time-saver.

You can do an import in Excel and use the ? as the delimiter so that will place everything in front of the delimiter in the first cell and then everything after the delimiter in another cell.

You just then need to replace everything in the second cell with a * and then copy both cells together into notepad and just do a search / replace on the tab space and they will join together.

Someone here may have a better idea
