I want to create a list of my competitors backlinks, preferably as many as I can.
How deep can scrapebox go in that sense, vs ahrefs?
I was thinkign of buying a one month membership to ahrefs, and collect data on a few competitors.
But if scrapebox can do it for free, I'll use SB. But I want them all, or as many as I can get. So if SB can only get like 60%, I will go with ahrefs.
Thanks!

Forget scrapebox, that's not what you need.

What you want is both a subscription to Ahrefs and MajesticSEO and OpenSiteExplorer.

That will get you 95%+ of the links pointed to your competitors website.

Been using Ahrefs for my client and personal site, it's simply just awesome -- Skip it SB..!!

Thanks. I'll go with SB. Don't really use SB so wasn't sure.

Did you read the responses? :) SB won't be of much use - you need a subscription to a proper intelligence service.

Scrape box will not be good for that if you want to make a list of your competitors use ahrefs and majestic seo it will help you a lot buy any one of them Sb can not get 60% as you are thinking..

Scrapebox pulls the backlink data from mozscape whose backlink index is utter crap when compared to Ahrefs or MajesticSEO. It's like comparing an Apple with an Orange. Go with Ahrefs.

lol oops I meant to say ahrefs. Had SB on my mind for the next sentence.

Try serpicoseo free trial, search for it on google.

I love ahrefs. Within seconds you can see the whole backlink profile ( or indeed a huge proportion) of your competitor. Also very importantly it contains page authority from the page that is linking. Export to excel, sort by large to small (page authority), lovely stuff :)

It is pricey though

SB was no where near as seamless

I use moonsearch.com
they give you a full backlink profile with anchors for free. Their service is good for Alexa top-100k, but sometimes messes up with low-traffic sites. Why pay ahrefs? :)

One more is openlinkprofiler. it's also free, the service even tries to evaluate link quality, but in a really strange way.

LOL,95%+
? Are you kidding or what? Majestic shows about 14% of links, ahrefs 12%, I don't know about OSE.
That testing somebody did about a year ago,now they probably show more, maybe about 20-25% but nothing like 95%.
I did testing myself,I built about 300k backinks to one site, and ahrefs showed only 42k. Somelinks got deleted, but there is at least 200k active links. There is no chance in hell that you can get 95%+. Some links are also hidden from ahrefs and majestic,so your best hope is to see 50%,if you see more, then you must be gandalf. Case closed.

A combination of ahrefs and majestic can cover most of the links, but as someone already mentioned, there could be several links that are hidden from their bots. Also, you can avail a special 60 dayfree trial from semrush. They do show competitor backlinks, but not as extensive as the other two major crawlers.
