The hardest part of offline is getting clients in my opinion, and was looking to see if you guys can share some tips on finding more clients. I do a lot of web design, marketing, etc and there is a lot of competition in my city with larger budgets for advertising.

I tried offering free websites just to get my name out there and didn't get a single bite.

I know I have the skills, now it's just getting clients. Has anyone ever tried hiring an appt. setter, or possibly an affiliate that works on commission only?

The best way is to cold call a lot of guys are sending out packets via direct mail too but i just stick to making cold calls

I would send out brochures to small businesses in your area that don't have a website. If they do have a website, I would contact them offering to make it better. This works particularly well if a company has a crappy website.

In terms of SEO, I would also contact companies directly who aren't ranking well for their main keywords.

This may sound counterintuitive, but you should never sell yourself cheap. You know they need you. They must know your services don't come cheap.
Now comes the important part: you are not selling your price, you're selling solutions, and they don't come cheap, they just need to be effective.

As for the affiliates, just offer referral commissions to people that hook you up with a client that needs your services. Bam! insta-sellers.
