find high PR blogs without tools

How would i go about finding some high PR blogs that I could post a comment on that are defollow? In a relevant niche?

I dont have any of the tools like scrapebox

Is there some way to do it manually?

Yes, there are ways you can search them on google or at bhw, also you can wait till someone post such a fresh list here or check old lists.

At least 1 tool is needed to check the PR of the page. Use SEOQuake plugin for Firefox, it's free.

Go to Google.com and sign in. In the right top corner you'll see a wheel for search settings. Set to disable instant searches, and to display 100 results on a page.

Make a search on a desired keyword...something like
"keyword" "powered by wordpress" "leave a comment" -"login to post comments"

You will get a list of blogs...then use the SEOQuake sorting option on PR...Sort from Z->A and VOILA. You have the highest PR blogs on top, laser targeted on your keyword.

That works really well. I posted 3 comments, but they are all awaiting moderation, all in pr more than 3 blogs

Am I doing the right thing here? And what do i need to do next? or do you just leave it and google will count it as a backlink eventually? any way to know if it will be a defollow link?

Yes, 89% of the posts you will post will never be seen as posted because site owners get 4000 of spammy posts daily and you just can't get enough luck to stuck your post.

I've just found out that 2 forums i've been posting to with my page in the signature are notfollow links
