I'm a computer engineer. After graduating, I couldn't find a job and after a while I gave up; I'm not trying to improve myself now. Finding a job has become even harder due to recent AI advancements. What field would you recommend I focus on?

Sounds like burnout more than anything. A lot of people hit that phase after graduation. Just keep learning and send your resume to companies and one day you'll find it

Try to align with your degree and become an expert in a related niche. Build connections and start posting on LinkedIn. Freelancing can also be the right option with the right motivation only.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Build a portfolio in the mean time. If you don't have work, still code. Then apply for jobs BELOW what you think you're capable of. Easy things like admin roles, data entry, qa whatever. Get a foot in, then after a while find out if there are more IT heavy positions you could transfer to within the company.

Had a mate who started with data entry and then ended up as sysadmin.

This is what you have to do
