Hey guys

Mainly asking people located in the USA

Any successful business requires a strong financial team, but I am not sure what I should be looking for.

A "grey hat" accountant?
CPA?
Tax attorney?

Most businesses want a person who has extensive knowledge on tax law that doesn't break any criminal laws; but someone who is not afraid to utilize "grey" methods that saves money for their clients. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for?

I would like to find such an experienced person.

These types of people are often found via word of mouth.

There is no such thing as "grey" methods, its either an illegal or legal way to reduce taxes.

Go to events for internet marketers, and network with people and ask around if anyone knows of a good accountant, CPA, banker, bookkeeper etc.

Just go off google reviews and see what people say about them. You can even look at the reviewers to see what types of businesses theyre coming from.. Just be careful wth advisors, I know some want a percentage of your earnings which I think is ridiculous

The problem with financial advisors is that they only recommend to you what makes them the most commissions. They don't care about how much you make in the end unless they get to charge you 40% on whatever your money makes post a 12% return or something. If you are managing a lot of money you could have a team of researchers to find out what is available and give you inputs on potential growth, have a good accountant to do your books and help you with the loopholes and the grey areas, and then make the investment calls yourself. You might fail on a few initially but once you do you will get the hang of it and do better.

Edit; Ended up answering more than what you asked for. A CPA should be able to help you with the loopholes. They won't call it the grey area as it is bad for business, but loopholes they definitley can help you with those.
